To make sure that it changes gears properly. On the interstate it didn't seem like it wanted to change gears it got all the way up to 3 1/2 rpm before it started to change gears. The U-Haul also acted like it didn't want to start up twice.Wesley E.

I was charged $20 additional dollars when i was told i WOULDN'T BE CHARGED by customer service when i extended my rental. I was told if i returned it at 6p i would be charged an additional day, i returned it at 5:30pm and was still charged and i called and still havent heard back from the GENERAL MANAGER about my refund.Cameron D.

Our original drop off after hours location appeared to be an abandoned self car wash in a sketchy area. Did not feel safe and was not going to take a chance and leave the Uhaul at Da Basement Auto Detail at 1501 Brackenridge Road, Columbia SC 29206. Spent AN HOUR on hold with Uhaul and finally got a new drop off location 10 miles away. Not convenient to our original location drop off, spent more money on gas and mileage. Uhaul should really consider removing Da Basement Auto Detail from your location sites.Samuel S.

Original guaranteed delivery date was Aug 24, 2021. Location failed to inform me that the truck would not be able to make the pick up on Aug 7, it was rescheduled for Aug 10, and again I was not notified that the truck would not be there. Pick up was finally completed on Aug 18 and the guaranteed delivery date was adjusted to Sep 7. I want to ensure I am compensated $50.00 a day past Aug 24 until the boxes are actually available for access. I addressed with location manager and have not heard anything and I previously submitted a concern, but I have not heard anything back. Location has no problem taking my money, but can't seem to communicate otherwise. Very dissatisfied. Additionally, U-Haul.com repeatedly gave me errors while trying to submit concern, so now it is a review.TYLER W.

There is always a delay when coming to the sparkleberry location. Communication is awful and service is below the rating scale. I reserved a truck online for 08/17/21, once I arrived I immediately notice the front passenger tire was extremely low. This caused a delay which caused me to go into the building to notify staff. The staff put air in the tire. I then go around to the back to my storage unit to obtain my possessions; to notice the lock had been replaced with a letter combination lock. I did not have the code, therefore this caused another delay which caused me to go drive around to go back into the building to notify staff. The staff had to make a phone call to request the combination code, therefore I was asked to make my run then come back to receive a key to the new lock. The worst part is that the company charged me $9.00 extra for 2 gallons of gas; gas I wouldn't of had to use. The employees are always clueless and blame the issues on someone who is not working that day. I try my best to be proactive by completing everything online, however I find myself repeating all the steps once I get to the location again. I had a storage in this facility, however I will ensure my things are removed so I won't have to come back to this location. Please properly train, educate, and communicate with the staff so they are able to assist customers. The manager try his best to do it all, however it is impossible to be in multiple areas assisting every customer.TAMIKA D.

My selections above only relate to this pick up Sparkleberry location. The actual reservation had me picking up the truck at a guaranteed time and place. The day before I received a text message to pick up the truck at another location. Upon arrival at the guaranteed pick up time the texted location (5333 Platt Springs Road Lexington, SC) did not have the truck available. The people were rude and said they have not had any trucks in a while. They did not even offer to help. We drove to the 400 Orchard Dr, West Columbia, SC 29170 U-Haul location to see if they could help us. The gentleman there was very kind and spent an hour looking for a truck and found one for us at the Sparkleberry location. Even though we were delayed and had to drive to different locations we did end up with a good truck that met our moving needs. However we were never offered the advertised $50 credit if the truck was not available at the guaranteed location and pick up time.Richard B.

The storage spaces are TOO SMALL. I had to get two storage units just to fit a two bedroom apt in. Although facilities is nice they are not big enough. The friendly staff gave me the unit but was not a good unit choice.Laura T. | First Impressions

My concern is not when I picked up the truck, the lady at the front desk was very helpful. My concern is when I dropped it off I had about half a tank of gas, ( I put $15 in the tank right there at the speedway gas station, down the road from the Uhaul dealer). I went to Lake Carolina and the took Boysen Berry apartments almost across the street, then to Lake Carolina, then I took the truck back. The whole ordeal took about 2 hours, I picked the truck up about 4pm and returned it about 6:30pm. For some odd reason, I was charged an extra $20 for gas, even though I put $15 in before starting the move. This is very concerning and doesn't seem accurate. I didn't bother to call Uhaul, because some things is not worth the hassle. I do hope the correct this type of mistake in the near future, before it cost them customers. Thanks.Alvie V.
