The car had an unmarked damage, glove box had an empty plastic bottle. There was another truck parked behind the car blocking the way out, and not enough people present to move it in under 20 minutes. Only one person was working at the front with like 10 people in line. No separation or communication between online and walk-in orders. And if you only need to see front person to pick up the key, wouldn't it be easier to just have like a password-lock-box with the keys set up, so it could be accessed without affecting the walk-in people?Laura B.

All the staff present ( four) were courteous . I was served immediately as I approached the check out area. The transaction was completed in three minutes. I had two charges on my credit card that were not included in my quote and were compeltely unexpected. I've asked customer service to review them and to reimburse. My u-box arrived late in Chicago. The movers said that it took ages at the u-box station to load the u-box onto the truck. The ubox location in New Windsor, NY held by u-box when the movers came because they said my u-box was being unloaded by me onsite, but that was incorrect. I had selected movers to pick up my u-box and unload at my new apt. My u-box arrived really late in Newburgh. I had three items damaged in transit. I believe they would have been fine if they had been packed properly. My desk was scratched (the moving pads were not used to protect it). I think the charge for the entire reservation should happen all at once instead of piece by piece. This makes it more confusing and stressfull and feels like you need to manually track what's going on. I would also recommend to include all charges in the summary. The breakdown of the extra charges were missing but the total price was mentioned.Taylor H.

The truck that I recieved had a cab that was not swept out - it should be before handing off to a customer. The truck itself had some issues - the doors did not close properly and there was something wrong with the trailer hitch (a warning light was on the whole time, even though I was not using the trailer) - trucks should be well maintained and well maintained trucks should be given out before poorly maintained ones. When I was handed keys to the truck, I was not told where the truck was, and had to search the lot for it myself, which took a considerable amount of time - The truck should either be pulled forward for the customer (I had a reservation for which I was on time) or the customer should be given help finding the truck. There were an insufficient number of people handling reservations, and as such I waited in line for a long time to get my keys - more employees should be present if possible. When I did find my truck, it was parked tightly next to other trucks, making the initial evaluation of the truck's condition impossible before moving the truck - trucks should be parked in such a way that those evaluations are possible. The wrong amount of fuel was initially indicated on the paperwork - fuel should be properly logged. There was no customer parking provided at this location, and there was no way of knowing that until I had already arrived, parked and obtained my rental - this location should either provide parking or make it clear that they do not provide it so that I could make my trip more efficient. This was far and away my worst experience with U-haul - that being said, the return process was smooth and the staff was friendly (other than the one woman that did the check in).Jeremy H.
You all got me almost stranded. Had a reservation since May 9th 2022 to pick up 18th June 2022. Got my my pick location changed twice before. Got to my pick location only to find out that I couldn't get the size of truck I made reservation for. You got all my plans messed up.Ikechukwu N.
Stood in line for one hour just to get my truck that I had reserved online. I had a move out window with my building that I had to push back twice. Only one person was working the counter on a Saturday. Once I got the keys to the truck, we found out it was boxed in by another truck, so we had to wait even longer. I also had rented a storage unit. She wrote down the wrong unit number so once I got back with all my belongings I had to get back in that line to find out the correct one was a couple units down. I enjoyed most of everything until I had a question about something and a lady by the name of Fonda called me arrogant. Because I think about not only myself but others I was spoken to like this for asking her to explain the pricing of the boxes to me which she quickly gave up and had a manager come speak to me. A manager who addresses me as boss, who commented that everything was fine until I showed up. This location was short-staffed which I don't blame them for but they were incredibly busy right at opening, 7 am. They only had one person behind the counter and 9+ people in line. We just needed to return an auto-transport but no one was at the equipment drop off area so we waited in line for about 40 minutes. Once we got to the front, the person behind the desk said we could just go around to the side and didn't need to wait in line. And then when we did that, no one was there or knew anything about equipment rental. We waited about 20 minutes there before someone came and unhitched our transport. When we returned the truck later that day, they said our drop off location was elsewhere even though our contract said it was that location. All in all, the people at UHaul we worked with were GREAT but the circumstances and systems they are working with seemed completely inefficient.Noah B.

This is by far the worst experience I've had with UHaul. I called our original location 3 days before our move and was told they didn't even have 15' trucks (despite taking our reservation and $$), and they wouldn't have it by our move date. After 2 hours on the phone with customer service, and behind hung up on multiple times, we were able to find out we'd be picking up the truck from a different location at 5am on moving day. While that wasn't an issue, we arrived at 5am where we couldn't access the self pick up, because when our reservation was changed to the new location, it wasn't set up for self pick up like the original reservation. Multiple unanswered phone calls and useless â€œonline chatsâ€ later, waited 2 hours for the office to open to finally pick up the truck. Horrendous communication, absolutely useless app AND website, and no justification for why the processes in place failed us. Thanks but no thanks.Hannah G.

I didnt realize about the disarming the unit at first so that was confusing but overall I have had three different storage units in three different companies and this was absolutely the most secure for my garbage lol. The staff was amazing they are very fun and make great jokes. That hill at the front is a bit treacherous but i made it up fine with out any damage to my garbage. I had a reservation prior to standing in the line to sign my contract. After waiting in line for 45 minutes I get politely told there are no more storage units at the facility... Even though I had a reservation. I then get a phone number of the manager to call so I utilize it and he starts texting me. Everything was pretty great. Well lit and clean storage facility. My only complaints/frustrations are: 1) requiring a round lock on the unit that is 3x the amount of a regular lock. Very annoying. 2) Hard to get ahold of someone via phone. They pick up and answer “please hold” without even asking who it is or the reason for the call.
