Service was great. Needed a last minute car hauler trailer. It was in stock late on a Sunday afternoon. I was in and out and back on the road in probably less then 20 minutes. I have used this location several times and so far all have been very positive! My hats off to you guys. Keep up the good work!!

The only problem I has was that I reserved a truck to move 2 weeks ahead of time. And when I got there they had no truck for me. That was the main office who made the big mistake. Thank God that after a while I was still able to move.

Truck was extremely dirty---looks like someone threw up or spilled soup into the cup holder. We didn't notice it since it was dark when we got the truck. We cleaned it up later to avoid a clean up fee.

We used Moving Help to deliver the box and pick it up and the group we used was EXCELLENT. Can't say enough about how good they were. I can't remember the name of the company.

I scheduled to pick up my vehicle at 6:30 am via the mobile pickup, but when I arrived at the location and logged onto the app it told me I had to wait until the store opened at 7 am to pick up the vehicle. I was not notified of these changes until I was at the location. This delay caused a chain reaction in our carefully scheduled plan.

This location was great, u-haul asking me to use a pickup location that was farther away than my drop-off location for a one-way trip was not ok.

Not changing the original scheduled truck and rate and availability of my equipment I pre ordered days in advance but I call me less then 24hrs before I have to pick up my equipment. I will never recommend u haul or use u haul ever again. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with in person at the facility and over email 24 hrs before the pickup. Never again.

I was told I would get refunded the miles I did not use which was over 300 miles and I still haven’t received a refund , made a claim got a claim number and no one ever got back to me . I am still waiting for my refund !

The process to rent a unit online was easy, but when it came to moving in, I might as well have been invisible. The cashier barely spoke when I picked up the free lock, and then when I came back to find scissors because they had a plastic lock on the unit, she didn't even acknowledge my presence to see if I needed help. It was clear that they did not care about me or any other customer there.

Do not encourage users to utilize the mobile check-in/check-out option (which I did) if you are going to surprise them with a $20 "after hours service fee." I would not have chosen this option had i known there would be surprise fees. This borders on deceptive advertising

We just found out that we could have saved hundreds of dollars for choosing round trip drop-off. For several times, we paid over $300 to take a load from Chicago to Athens, Ohio and in each occasion, we thought our only choice was to drop it off in Athens and return to Chicago without the trailer. For the first time in our reservation making experience we were told that it would less than $20 a day if we returned to Chicago and did a 2-way move! Doing so, our price was a mere $80! If our reservation on the 800 number hadn't informed us of this option, we would never have known. Others should have offered this to us in the past as a way of laying out all of our options! Poor communication and we ended up paying hundreds of more dollars that we didn't need to pay!

While the staff apologized for their errors, the service experience was poor. I prepped and reserved those two services online to speed up my visit on site but my visit took longer than expected due to some errors at the front desk. After my initial check in the storage unit process was not completed. I was also directed to a unit number that was in use by mistake. Not a great customer service experience. A side note: during my visit the U-haul reps were not wearing their face masks. They were however behind their plexiglass desk shields. My understanding it is strongly enforced by CDPH and BACP and may be something Uhaul upper management will have to review immediately.

The place was surprisingly very clean. I was happy to see there is a rat trap in the unit. I love that the unit is armed when I am not there and is easily disarmed when I arrive. There were carts to use for free. I had all my stuff moved into a unit within a few trips because of the carts. Overall a very good experience.

I reserved a 26 foot truck. They didn't have one when I arrived, but they assured me that a 20 foot truck would be big enough for a three bedroom apartment. It was not and I had to make two trips. The $50 credit didn't make up for the hassle.

I reserved my truck at the Western location originally. It said I was guaranteed my truck or I'd get $50. Then the day before I was to pick up my truck they changed the location of my pickup because Western didn't have my size of truck, yet I wasn't given or credited $50... my rental was fine, but flat out lying to your customers isn't cool.

So easy to drop off at this location. The experience reminded me of the car rental experience at an airport. Very professional location. Will always rent from Uhaul based on this type of experience.

The self-checkin process was a huge failure, it advertises "skip the counter" but after a lengthy process it tells you to go inside to get your key and then a very long line of frustrated customers that aren't social distancing greets you. After 45 minutes has cut into your reservation, you get to the counter and none of the employees are wearing masks. The desk employee asks for your key number but the mobile registration form has timed out because it took so long to get help.

The van we rented was filthy dirty, which is shocking given the health concerns related to Covid. The inside of the van looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The passenger seat was completely covered in dog hair. The windshield was covered in dead bugs and was so dirty you could barely see through it. We also had to wait in line for almost 10 minutes to get our rental contract. There was no one checking people in when we arrived. What a terrible experience this was. When I asked who to speak with about the condition of the van and the unsatisfactory customer experience I was told to talk to the manager who wouldn't be available until Monday. The employees in this store were negative, unhelpful and had no focus on the customer experience.

I got a confirmation number through email about my reservation that I did there website but then when I went to pick up the truck they didn't have or mentioned that I had reservations? And then the system was down and could not load properly? I guess maybe call that client to tell them that it didn't go through or some kind of communication needs to happen ; thankfully there was a truck there for me to rent!

The Kedzie location was a delight. The 665 Halstead/700 Erie St location in Chicago where our truck was originally scheduled was a nightmare. A guy sits in a kiosk in the middle of a parking lot and gets your supplies from a truck. There is no "office." He said I couldn't make any changes to my online order of shipping supplies and also said I couldn't return anything because of Covid. Except...stamped right on every box is a "100% return guarantee." I picked up the shipping supplies two days before coming back to get the truck. On moving day, we arrived at the appointed time and were told they didn't have a truck for us...and we had moving helpers arriving in an hour. There was no explanation given, no attempt to do anything to help resolve the problem, and no suggestions other than a shrug of the shoulders and a suggestion to "call U-Haul." This local guy obviously feels no connection to his company nor any obligation to try to solve customer problems. We called the corporate office and after a 15-20 minute wait, they found another truck for us--luckily only 4 miles away at the Kedzie location, where both of the employees were extremely helpful. I would STRONGLY suggest that you skip the Halstead/Erie "neighborhood dealer" and instead rent your tuck and buy your supplies from the location at 3250 N Kedzie.

Yesterday I rented a truck to move a sectional. About 3 1/2 miles only. Gas was about 1/2 tank. Before I return it ,I went to the gas station to buy drinks for my friends and I paid for only a gallon of gas. $3 for less than 3 miles used. I opened my email yesterday and you guys charge me $8 for gas. It is not fair. I m a regular user from uhaul. I think you should return my $8 to my credit card. 312-259-4580

I was double charged for the can I rented for 2 hours. I've now been on hold for an hour and know one picks up the phone to help get the charge reversed. Looks like I'll have to drive to the location to get this resolved

I'm not sure which of my two rentals this was for, but... "Clean and Well Maintained". Both the trailer and the truck were mostly clean,. The truck cab smelled... I understand that it was a "well used" 2009 truck, so it makes sense. Also, the truck needed maintenance. A headlight was out and the center console was very loose and shook.

First impression of store was a short tempered GM that couldn't be bothered and was obviously busy on his computer and not on customer service. The GM was able to turn this around when my truck had electrical problems and he personally went out and fixed the issue. I've rented many Uhauls in the past and everytime the process is slow, cumbersome with a cold, short tempered and uninterested service reps... why does it have to be like this?!

Uhaul did not recommend the right number of boxes for us which caused us to have to find another box last minute. Additionally, I had to spend 5+ hours on the phone with general customer service and the Avondale location to combine my original Ubox order and my extra box into one order.

I was disappointed with how the staff is handling covid. There is a sign requiring masks in the storefront but I only saw one employee wearing a mask. Also we had taken the time to pre-register with our drivers license info. But when we came in to pick up keys, the staff was not able to load our reservation (problems with the network, they said) so they had to do it all over again. That's pretty frustrating when you're trying to avoid close contact with people and you've also spent your own time to take pictures of licenses etc.

Vanessa was so incredibly helpful as we moved out of our storage units and into U-Boxes. She was there to provide everything that we needed over a 3-4 hour period. The general manager was also super helpful and patient as we cashed out and clearly communicated the next steps as far as shipping our U-Boxes to our new town.

I was told over the phone several times before the move that my storage unit would be $38 a month after the first free month, then when I arrived to pick up the truck I was told it would be $149. Was completely thrown off and felt like I was lied to. I stored and used you guys in January but don’t think I will again after this.
