The uhaul van reeked of cigarette smoke. We were renting for a work trip late notice, so unfortunately we couldn't make a can switch, but a previous renter definitely smoked in the vehicle and it required the AC to be running to minimize the smell. TerribleKatelyn P.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The truck worked fine and was clean, but seemed to be a bit behind in routine maintenance. The wiper blades were totally worn out and had badly scored the windshield. Thankfully we did not need them since we had no rain on our move. The check engine light was also on but didn't seem to impact performance.Gunther J.

Emily and Donna were very helpful and accommodating. I particularly appreciated Emily allowing me to park the equipment behind the fence overnight, until I could unload it the next morning. Moving is always a challenge and there are inevitable surprises like the ones we encountered. I have moved many times over the years. I've always used uhaul. Eventho I always have bad experiences with my rentals, I still use uhaul thinking next one can't be bad as well. Wrong! I always end up with out dated nasty truck. Sometimes the pick up places have rude and racist people. I just never eva had a good experience with uhaul until now. This go around was unbelievable pleasant. The rental was nice updated and clean. The workers were extremely nice. I will definitely recommend this location to others.Terra B.

The odometer reading was different from the printout, as was the gas tank. While waiting in line to be helped, the customer in front of me had the same problem. When I got out to my truck, the back was completely dirty, as if a potted plant had tipped over and the dirt spilled out without being swept up. Donna Alberson - was a huge help to me with getting wardrobe boxes in a Honda civic, it worked out perfectly with two mines together. And my truck rental experience was just as great, the back door got away from me when I needed to check before leaving and the door became stuck at the top and I wasn't able to get it down. I asked if she could get someone to help me and she volunteered and was able to get it unstuck to my surprise. Kudos to Donna.Tamara C.

Just before picking up the keys to hand to me the clerk sneezed into her left hand and then picked up the key chain with that hand. Disgusting, even without Covid. I was able to slide the keys under a bottle of sanitizer and I loaded the keys with it. Had I had an option I would have walked out. Very unprofessional. Over priced. My unit was ransacked and items like a bookcase belonging to my grandfather stolen. Due to the gate being broken for five months. Units full of mouse/rat excrement & urine. Everything stored had to be thoroughly cleaned before moving into our home, resulting in a extremely costly expense. Very difficult to move around facility due to U-haul moving trucks parked haphazardly along the sides and in the rows leading to the storage unit. I definitely do NOT recommend unless you're desperate. The storage facility I use now is locked, video cameras record each vehicle. And your time you open & close the gate until you open & close to leave is recorded. Only one vehicle can enter at a time and the units are clean. For a lot less money. Thank goodness I no longer have to use the storage facility at 529 Wade Hampton Blvd! One more thing, the largest unit they offer is 10 x 15. If you have a full 26 ft. truck you'll need two units. And that's with professional people packing each unit neatly and using every bit of space. Two units cost $289.90 every month, with vermin infested, hard to get to, no security, etc. Decide for yourself, but I won't use them again.Kathy B. | Overall Experience
Although I give praise to your staff at the Wade Hampton facility in Greenville, SC, the storage room was not in the best condition. The first room I rented had fiber panels in the ceiling damage and hanging from the ceiling coming in contact with it. I complained and the staff moved me to another room. This room had rat droppings on and in my boxes. I complained and ask for the box that controlled the rats. It didn't work and later I complained again then they moved me to another room. The rats were coming from a small hole in the rear wall This was a nasty, unsanitized, and unsafe room. I moved out yesterday and I will never rent another storage area from this Uhaul.
