I picked up here due to closest location. Staff was not knowledgeable they had to keep asking each other questions. I was handed the keys and told the truck was behind the building. I feel the Truck should have been retrieved for me, inspected together etc. The employee had walked to the vehicle in order to check the fuel and mileage, it should have been driven up closerBruce M.

My customer service experience was TERRIBLE. I made w reservation in APRIL, for a 10 foot truck. I got an email the day before saying I had to drive an additional 15 MILES to pick up/drop off my vehicle. I immediately called back and confirmed a different location. They CANCELLED both of the reservations I had, now I had to settle for a 9 foot van that fit barely anything, causing me to take work off and make up the hours. This experience sucked and made me very stressed out. I am never using Uhaul again, and I for sure would love compensation for my stress.Callie F.
The associate was very rude, could not read the gas gauge, told me I would be charged the fuel fee. I brought the truck back on quarter of a tank of gas, Same amount of gas at the pickup. The manager was more rude then the associate. I had to leave the location go to the gas station and put more gas. I was told by the manager the gas gauge needs to be over a quarter of tank not on the line. Asked me where Is my paperwork several times. Not understanding I picked the truck at at 5:45 am, office was closed at that time. No paperwork was provided. The manager stated that's your problem.Joshua R.

No enough personnel in the office. Windshield on the van wasn't even clean at pick up. When I tried to call the LOCAL OFFICE, I was rerouted to the 800 number. So, I had to call the manager's cell phone. Ridiculous. I wanted to return a roll of packing, but I was told that it was company policy that you had to have the receipt...even though the transaction is in your system and the item could have been scanned. I will recommend Penske to those who ask!Rodger G.

I am a frequent business customer. Aries is a top notch, top tier employee. Trucks are always ready and pulled out first thing in the morning . He is courteous, kind, funny and above all a professional. While you appreciate what Aries does, he makes it look easy, you don't understand until he's not there.. Aries is exceptional.Brendon S.

Get new trucks! The truck needs to be retired! Pretty sure the brake pads are gone/when stepping on the brake on the highway the pedal felt like gravel - not an alignment shake. I went to put the visor down and the clip it's in fell out of the roof. The back of the seat doesn't recline enough for a comfortable position if the seats back to accommodate long legs. Need to see a chiropractor after driving it for 4 hours.Susan C.

Lower the price of a pickup truck rental, it cost me nearly $100 for 4 hours. $20 for rental is fair, but $.79 per mile plus having to refuel is excessive. Why such a high mileage fee when the renter has to pay for the fuel anyway?Bryan A.

I've been to many, many Uhaul locations in my day, but this one is tops. Fast, friendly, courteous service, clean and orderly environment, so much help hooking up and unhooking the trailer, fast checkout... I usually don't do reviews but this place earned my future business.SCOTT P.
I think you could re-evaluate some of the policies that effect your customer service; sometimes it behooves a business to make an exception to keep a long standing customer especially in a trivial matter that costs nothing.Jason W.
Make sure your online reservation system works next time. It didn't reserve the truck at the location and I had to wait for staff to arrive an hour later. The online process was lengthy and was made much longer by forcing me to scroll through sales pitches. Overall this was not a good experience. It was supposed to save time and get my day going earlier, but instead tied things up.Glen H.

I had a reservation and the van I reserved was not available. This location was walking distance from my home and I specifically planned the day around rush hour traffic to pick up at 2pm at this location. Instead I had to drive 20 minutes through bad traffic to the opposite side of town and ultimately got stuck in 5pm city traffic which I was trying to avoid. What's the point of a reservation if the equipment isn't available. The clerk was apologetic but the experience ruined my day.Gary B.

I had spoken to someone twice that I could not afford to pay for the unit any longer and my information was ignored and now over one year after clearing out my unit and not paying. I am still receiving a bill for thousands of dollars and continuously harassed by one of the managers after I explained my situation. If I have a financial hardship and can't pay. How do you think that is suddenly going to change. And after I had already emptied out the unit and left my keys with your associates. They screwed up and I get blamed for it. It's bad enough that when you come into the office you can't get anyone to acknowledge your presence, nevermind help you. So. First I go there and it takes over 15 minutes to get a checked in (there’s only one guy ahead of me). That’s not that big of deal, and then everything went down hill from there. I was expecting a bigger storage unit and I expressed that as I saw what I received. Didn’t really try ans help me find a bigger one. And THEN the doors wouldn’t open. The WHOLE time I was unloading my Uhaul full of stuff. The employee never came back to check on me and was like “idk I guess they’re broken”?? Like what?? I want to give a huge shout out to Moragn Amador at this location. She was spectacular when assisting us with the move in and day prior to moving out. Very attentive to my needs and did not suffocate me with loads of products/services that would’ve costs lots of money. I had a bit of a weird experience with the issue in using the dumpsters at the property. I used the night I moved out and was charged $40 for it. At no point did someone from the company state that the dumpsters were off limits to renters. Mind you, someone came up to us at the trash and even wished us a good night. If that was the case, why weren’t we addressed then? We would’ve immediately went elsewhere had we known prior to emptying out the unit and throwing them there, we would’ve went elsewhere.Martha O. | Overall Experience

There was an issue with the electronic entrance to my unit for the first 2 months of our experience, which meant I could not access the unit after 7pm, which did not adhere to the posted schedule I had signed up for. I brought it to the attention of management and they said they were working on fixing it & apologized for the inconvenience. But upon asking for some sort of bill reduction, I was told they’d have to ask the facility head. Ivory ever got back to me & I was given the runaround a few times. That’s not right. Not giving me access at times outside my personal work hours really resulted in a terrible experience. Additionally, I showed up 10 minutes before the office closed one night & asked the staff member in duty if he could help me get into my unit as my card wasn’t working. He said he couldn’t because he was closing up. Again, awful customer service & completely inappropriate foe the staff member to value their closing over a customers needs while they were still open. While the door issue was eventually fixed, it was too little too late. We’ve since moved to another facility in the area & are having a much better experience. The staff at the East Providence, RI location are excellent, providing excellent customer service. Dawn went above and beyond to help me when I arrived it was noted that the call and reservation center did not send my storage rental information to them so they could get my ubox out of storage so I could have it transferred to a storage unit. They also gave me wrong information about what a split level unit is; luckily once again Dawn at the site location saved me from climbing stairs to get to a unit. Very unprofessional of UHAUL Call Center! If not for Dawn who went out of her way to get my ubox out from being buried among other uboxes, I would have been out $200 for the movers I had arranged. Thank you Dawn!!! As for the UHAUL Call & Reservation Center HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! The storage facility at East Providence is clean but two things I didn't like: 1. street level storage units have very low ceilings, smell damp and there is no lights so the units are dark. 2. there is no elevator for above street level storage or split levels which is ridiculous!! don't know about lighting because I didn't look at those units.janet t. | Overall Experience
