The process ro rent a truck contactless was horribly complicated and cumbersome. I'm pretty sure I could buy a pound of meth more quickly and easily. The equipment by far was the worst was told was in perfect condition. It wasn't it was half ass repaired. The trailer made it 800 miles then broke which resulted in causing $1000.00 dollars into repair work to my towing vehicle. I will never use U-Haul again.nicholas C.

The reservation process was horrible. I was notified less than a day prior to pickup that the trailer size I needed was not available. I attempted to call the reservation customer service as I was directed and was on hold for about 45 minutes only to be told I would have to pick up a larger trailer at a different location. I spent the next day scrambling to find a trailer in the size I needed. I called multiple locations, was told they had the size I needed, then was told they didn't. Finally about 30 minutes before my scheduled pickup time they suddenly had a trailer in the size I had originally reserved.Emily Y.
I got an email stating I rented a uhaul when I clearly live in California. Had my name email and phone number. I called and they only said that it's not their fault that's the info was provided. Calls to this location are not answered and the mailbox is not set up and/or full. The website does not work. Instructions for rental return are not provided. Equipment was missing safety chain. Staff did not know how to hood up a trailer. Changing time of reservation pick up required 2.5 hours. I have no idea how Uhaul can be consistently so bad.BRENT B.

The guys behind the counter were friendly and helpful. It was great. This is no reflection on them or the site, but U-Haul's online registration site is a nightmare, and friends and family members who have rented online all agree. You have to be very savvy in terms of determining what are ads and what are necessary portions to the "package" and what are optional purchases to enhance the package. In addition, we had to redo our online "purchase" four (4) times, as the site would not recognize our "password" entry, though we were meticulous in correctly entering it. In addition, when the U-Haul site we chose did not have the vehicle available, it re-routed us to a rental site that did not even carry trucks. Finally, and here I am getting picky, your site has so many moving pieces and flashing ads and ads jumping in with cleverly obscure ways to eliminate the ads, which all bombard the senses. Older folks, even if tech savvy, and for sure anyone with an ADHD/ADD disorder or even a slight Learning Disability would be so disoriented by your site as to be totally dissuaded from wanting to or being able to finish it up. I know there must either be a reason for this that is beyond my reckoning, or the team or individual who created the online process was simply given free rein with no real checks on their work. That being said, we made it through the process, and the self-check personal device return process is pretty good and fairly simple! -PeterPETER K.

I had tried to call to extend the time I had the truly and to get roadside assistance. Kept getting a recording that the voicemail was not set up. I tried to get roadside assistance and got a recording that they could not take my call at this time. Please try calling at a later time Goodbye. I will NOT pay for extra days. Because I could get a hold of anyone. I even called from there parking lot and got the voicemail was not set up. I walk in and there was one person there no phones were ringing. I am pretty sure they didn’t answer because they didn’t want to work. They never called me they just came and took the truck. Now they have my things. That were in the truck they said I couldn’t take the truck and dropped my things at my storage facility. Now I will go tomorrow I am not paying anything extra because had they bothered to call me and actually talk to me this would not be happening. Now I need to get the rest of my things out on Tuesday and I will need a truck I better not have any trouble. Also they left a blue metal object that when I went to leave and because it was small I did not see it and it’s probably damaged my car but I saw others that were put up by building to get them out of the way.Diane R. | First Impressions

There’s ad bit of confusion about 24 hour access terms when I converted from a 5x10 storage to 10x10. The 10x10 requires contact with a CSR to rent while the smaller units were entirely contactless and automated almost instantaneously. I have used Uhaul in the past and have never dealt with someone so rude. Who ever worked yesterday when I came to get my storage unit at 2pm was very unprofessional. He was on a personal call when I walked in and continued to talk to them for a few minutes before telling the person to call them back because he had a customer as if I was an inconvenience to his time. He then proceeded to require a second contact name and number. Not once before have I had to provide this since I am a single adult. He then told me it was company policy to have 2 contacts. I get thay is normal in most cases cases but the fact that I had to provide my mother's information who lives in Florida was demeaning to say the least. Then when it came time to get my storage unit that was reserved he told me that just because something is reserved does not mean you actually have one. So after I just drove 17 hours I was told that I would just have to wait a unit to become available or use one they have which is a larger size. So originally my climate controlled 10 × 15 was 145 a month and the only one available that day was a 16 × 20 which was close to 300 dollars. I can't give the exact amount because he would not give me a receipt. He said it would be emailed. Still haven't received the email for that even though I ask for one. Once I had finished unloading my 20ft truck I asked for the receipt and to show that I had turned it in in the 19th since I was told the price of the truck was by day. He again refused to give me a receipt and told me it doesn't matter you aren't going to save any money any way. I have worked in customer service jobs before and I get people have bad days. But this man was rude, demeaning, and honestly just lazy. I will continue to call customer service until I speak to someone about this because never before have I been treated so poorly for no reason at all.Sarah B. | First Impressions

Unfortunately my unit is 2 small units versus the 1 larger unit I requested...which means 2 doors, 2 locks and a wall that lessens the available space. Also, there was NO clear explanation of the process to get into the building and the BLUE keypad versus the other ones that are there. It is simple now that I now the process, but it was very frustrating not knowing what to do and having an alarm sound when we opened the doors.
