It appears as if all the trucks are not well maintained. The floor of the driver and passenger sides had a layer of oil or something that made the floor extremely slippery. When returning the vehicle, i overheard another customer returning a vehicle complaining over the same slippery floor. Secondly, i honestly thought the truck felt like it was going to breakdown any minute. The entire truck was squeaking and squealing that sounded as if the truck was whining as i drove the truck. Thirdly, the alignment kf the truck was a wacky. I had to drive just below the speed limit because i could barely keep the truck in a straight line. If i maintained the steering wheel straight, the truck would veer off to the right, and then when i would correct it, then the steering of the truck would over steer to the left. Going past 40mph in the bumpy streets of nyc made it feel really dangerous. Either fix the damn trucks, if not get rid of them. I told the guy of these complaints and he said â€œyeah these trucks are a bit oldâ€.Oscar D.
the app did not work for return; i tried three different phones - nothing worked; called customer service for two hours - finally told that i would not be charged the after-hours fee; the next day, the location said i turned the truck in late (9:30am - impossible) -- so they charged me an extra day AND charged the after hours fee -- how in the world can you leave something after hours (the day before) be charged for that and then keep something late?Ian H.

I brought the trailer to the location after regular working hours, so there was nobody there to assist me. Therefore some question above are non applicable.Cezary D.
The mileage reading was incorrect when I got the U-haul truck. Since I did not have a data plan on my cell phone, so I could not correct it on the U-Haul website upon renting the truck. At that time, I told this to a U-Haul customer representative. She told me to take a picture of the odometer reading before I drive away the truck, and then show the picture to the U-Haul representative upon returning the truck. When I returned the truck, I showed the picture of odometer reading to the U-haul personnel. He acknowledged and said that it will be changed to the correct mileage. When I got home, I found out that the mileage calculation was still based on the incorrect odometer reading. Therefore, I was charged additional 2 miles that I did not drive. It cost me extra 3 dollars that I should not have paid. Can this issue be fixed without correcting the incorrect odometer on U-haul website?SHAN CHING M.

Makes no sense as to why I do everything on the app,only to have to go in there to stand in line so it can take 45 min or more to get all the paperwork correct, while the "agent" is adding things to my contract that I didn't ask for. We had to do the contract over because of that meaning we had to rescan my license and swap my credit card again.. Then when I return the van, the app does not let me check myself out. My pick-up location was moved the day before (despite reserving the truck two weeks in advance, the location was moved to a different state and I had to pay over $60 in tolls as a result), customer service was horrible (I could not get ahold of anyone for several hours), and the drop-off location offered no help and was completely overwhelmed (there was only one poor worker out there for truck returns and there were so many people returning trucks the road was blocked). The owner does not have great attitude and there is only one person as counter representative. And the wait was about 30 mins. Vehicles are fine. But poor service attitude also the location close at 8pm but they are not providing service like returning the key after 7:30pm.JOHNNY W.

I highly recommend taking the time as an entity to refill the gas tank to full for each and every vehicle the site plans on renting out. It is unfair to assume every customer is able to calculate how much it costs to fill up 1/4 or a half a tank of gas. Case in point, my rental; I am not aware of how much it costs to fill up a 1/4 tank of gas (which is where the pickup truck's tank read) and wound up filling it up half a tank. This benefits you guys, but not myself as a renter. As I paid more than was necessary to bring it back the way it was rented out to me. If I didn't fill it up, I'd be charged extra for not doing so. The auto 24/7 sucks. It's not the location's fault AT ALL. It's the website. I entered everything in when I booked and had to reenter it at the location. What was said took 10 minutes to complete took 30, since I had to do it all over again, plus additional items and didn't get the van until after my desired time. Also, there should be parking for people who are returning the vehicle to the same place in six hours or less (I needed the van for 4, + the additional time it took me to redo all driver info, et al to complete the rental) (it's not at all unreasonable to expect that if you drive there you can leave your car), as this is a location one needs to drive to, not take a train. Again, I blame U-haul not the workers of the location. Lastly, I rented two furniture dolly's and they were not in the van and we had to wait online for 15 minutes to find out we could just take them from the front. 24/7 book yourself sucks as is.Timothy C.

The antenna was broken off and left on the floor next to the driver. I noticed it about an hour after I got the truck. By then it was too late, i was already loaded and on my way from Queens, New York to Connecticut Stamford. Since the antenna was broken i had no radio all the way to Stamford and all the way back to Queens. Quite upsetting since it was important for me to listen to the updates of the upcoming storm happening Sunday tomorrow The discount I got due to the problem from the manager was the rental fee of the vehicle: $20 Other than that everything was fine Thank youIgal L.

I have been a uhaul customer fir many years, this facility was horrible. Our belongings were destroyed by water damage, mold and mildew destroyed our storage boxes and possessions. It was disgraceful!! The precious valuables were things treasured from years, decades ago and no value could be put on them. We will never get those pictures, diplomas and various other treasures our family saved. Shame on uhaul and their flushing facility and employees. I disappointed to rented U-Haul Van. The day befor I pickup, I came to U-Haul saturday to make reservations that I needed the 15'N Truck Van, same as I had rented before, I sad. But that U-Haul employer he dont answered, he just printed the papers he needed and he give me the copy. Than he serving athers customers. On the ways I go home I repeat to read the paper he gives to me that I realized that I got big citing from that guys, he dont give me the 15'N truck Van as I ask hem, he just put van in the paper. The nex days when I came to pickup the car, I asking again the Van'15 N, but he answered 'you get what in the paper printed.!!* This is actually reason I can't returned the van as shedulled...!
