The U-Haul facility at 1200 W. Fullerton is beautiful and marvelous. I stored a large number of boxes there for many, many months, and then visited numerous times as I gradually moved these boxes to a more permanent location. It was always a great pleasure to visit the facility. Every member of the staff was invariably as kind, courteous and helpful as can be. Every area of the building is neat, clean and tidy, and the security system always functioned perfectly and was very reassuring. Bravo to the management and staff of the Fullerton U-Haul. I cannot be any more pleased and satisfied to have been a customer there, and I'm delighted to have this opportunity to most highly recommend the 1200 W. Fullerton U-Haul storage facility. The trucks are parked all over the place in no organized manner, in the lot. There is no separate entry way for customers wanting to move in. We had to go through several randomly parked trucks across the whole lot, carrying really heavy furniture and boxes and that made the whole process super inconvenient and rough.Karishma P. | First Impressions
9:00 am on a Sunday. One person working two terminals at the check-out desk. He was obviously not happy and I don't blame him. Seven to eight renters waiting. Another four workers by the north bay sitting and talking nearly the entire time I was in line, about 40 minutes. Not only have the prices doubled in the past 3 years, the amount Uhaul sent in the Order Summary that showed how much I would pay at check out differed from what I was told at the counter. That is literally a scam. And charging $20 to drop off after hours? Other rental car services don't do this, especially after an overpriced trip.Alyssa C.

It is a convenient location and everyone was friendly and helpful. Given what the ram has to work with they keep it maintained and clean; but it is an older facility. I picked up truck and after driving it for a day to hotel to get packing -the low oil light comes on. I bought insurance but was specific to ask. If we got stuck someplace then u haul would come but we would need to move the furniture from one truck to another. I took it back and it was beyond low when he did the dipstick. Because of this â€¦next time I'm going to ask they look at the oil while I'm there. This place was busy and it will no doubt piss people off in line but I was traveling over 1200 miles. The Fullerton group is great and saved me a lot of trouble. However, this was all after the Ashland location did not prepare a truck for me for a reservation I had made over a month in advance. I had to use a 10 foot truck instead of 17 foot requiring an incredible extra amount of trips and working late into the night because of this. It then took 45 minutes to even get through for help. I was not appreciative of my overs experience. Thankful that the Fullerton location was understanding and accommodating.Danny S.

Original reservation was to return at 1pm the next day, when picking up the truck was told it was 9am and the late fee policy will begin after then. Apparently this is store policy the 1st of each month in order to take stock of the vehicles, but in that case why would I be able to rent past that time at all? Also what a bad policy for a moving truck company to have when it's common sense apartment rental leases start and end on the 1st of months.Gabriel T.
This experience was actually terrible. The staff was rude, unaccommodating and lazy. My truck was left with less that 3/4 tank of gas, and filthy. It contained all sorts of trash on the floor and the back of the truck was dirty. The staff also lied to me and said that there would be staff available after 8PM for helping me pack up the truck. Then, the website I HAD to use to return the truck was riddled with bugs and would not let me register a new account or find my work order. Had to use someone else's phone to troubleshoot the glitches. What a bad experience, not to mention spending $35 for less than 1/4 a tank.Jonah B.

My uhaul experience was absolutely terrible. I reserved the truck at one location and then the morning of the big move I get an email to go to another location way out of the way to pick up my truck. I waited in line because so many people probably were rerouted there. Makes no sense I planned my trip and has the reservation for a location that didn't even matter.Jacob R.

I picked up a 15' truck and hitch to drive several states to the West. The process was pretty streamlined, highly recommend doing the online check-in to save time. The staff was helpful and I also took them up on the offer to attach the car tow hitch for $20. Well worth the money to ensure it was installed properly. Would recommend!Daniel T.

Access to the units is not convenient. The loading/unloading area is in an inconvenient alley. The building loading entrance is several feet above ground level. It would be very difficult or impossible to get large items from a truck into the building. I had a 15’ truck and had to park outside the building with no street parking. The recommended alley was occupied by another truck. CSR was great but dragging my furniture up a long drive way/ramp was not something I was planning to do. Both the alley and driveway were not pedestrian friendly. The hinge of the door of my unit was bent went I received it. This made it extremely difficult to get in and out of my unit. Unacceptable how you rent units that are maintained like that. I will not be using Uhaul for storage again.Luke L. | Overall Experience

The people were very helpful and hard working - no complaints about staff, although i could tell they have a lot to deal with in terms of the physical layout of this location. The customer evening access hours are too restrictive - 8pm is very inconvenient to deny access for loading or unloading. Most storage places allow at least til 9 or even til 11pm. Pleas reconsider these hours. Great availability of carts, smooth elevator and clear map and markings of storage units. However, the whole layout of the office - loading - drop off area is a nightmare. The building overall is very dirty (especially compared to most storage units) but my storage unit is gross! There are splatters of I-dont'-know-what on the wall, a giant rat trap in the corner by a wall of dirty chipped and flaking brick and paint. Your company needs to clean, repair, de-bug and repaint when a unit is emptied out - seriously. Most of that is basic maintenance. If there is a larger rat or mouse problem I'm sure that being addressed but how bad is it that there is a trap IN my unit? I'm concerned that there maybe rats or mice in my stuff while using this unit. I did not have time to address this with staff before I left town for the month. I didn't think i was going to have to take time to address such issues. I've rented vehicles form Uhaul several times over the years and have been happy with that service but I have to say if this is how your storage facilities are I am not inclined to use them again if even the basic cleanliness and appearance does not improve.Lisa S. | First Impressions

This place made moving better. Everyone was friendly and helpful and hard working. It was honestly just really encouraging to see everyone trying so hard. The only critique is for the maps inside the storage units. Maybe it was just me, but I had a hard time understanding them, especially with respect to where the upper units were with respect to the lower units. Fantastic place though! Would highly reccommend. I don't know if it was just the weather or if the guy had a bad day, but he was just not helpful. He was kind of rude and only confused and made it harder to think about what I needed in the store. He insisted a queen sized bed would not fit in a 5x10x4 space but lo and behold it did! Same with all my extra large boxes that I stacked on top of each other. I think it was just a bad day but if I come into contact with that sort of behavior again, it'll just make my storage experience even more miserable than it already is. The employees were helpful and kind. It's the location and inside setup. Too many rude customers, traffic on Fullerton, no space to really park to unload. And for the inside, I was in the second floor and then had to walk up stairs to get to my space. It was a rough moving day for me. The location convenience was good, and employees were great, but it's too small for what you all are trying to accommodate. Also, I considered adding another storage unit because I thought all of my stuff would not fit, but the online process was difficult. I had to set up another profile and do the process all over. I reserved a storage facility for my 2-bedroom apartment and was given a very tiny unit that could not even fit a small portion of my belongings. We then had to repack them truck at the facility and go to another storage unit across town. Maybe a sign letting pedestrians know how to get in the building. I walked around trying to find a “welcoming” door and decided to just walk through the garage.
