Requested dolly when I made reservation. When I picked up rental, I asked for the dolly because it wasn't in van. Employee walked around store and just told me â€œwe don't have any dollies today, sorryâ€. I'm was moving heavy boxed, and made the whole experience sour. She also mentioned she would take it off my bill. She mentioned it twice but I still ended up getting charged for it.Saul R.
I dropped off my rental to the place I picked it up. I then received a 200$ charge for dropping at wrong location. I have pictures and video proof of my drop off. Site in IL was terrible to deal with. calling the 800# was even more painful. "We keep our promises". you need to change that message. No reason my boxes sat idle from the 5th to the 11th. No reason why my boxes left IL on the 13th and did not arrive in AZ until the 24th. No one knows what is going on. You hold for 2 hours for someone to say, "I am sorry, I don't know where you boxes are, sorry I cannot tell you when they will arrive, I am sorry they have not been picked up yet, call another number". The location sharing would not work on my phone despite allowing the location to turn â€œonâ€ for safari. If location sharing didn't work, the site said to scan the barcode above the key return box. There is no barcode above the key return box. Also- when checking out the vehicle it would be nice if someone walked you out to the vehicle to show you which one is yours, the basics of the truck, and how to return after hours. The dates were changed after I had the box picked up from my house to ship. I packed to be without my belongings for 2 weeks. It turned out to be 4 weeks. I tried to get in contact with ubox many times and sat on hold for hours until the line hung up on me. Over 4 hours on hold and not once did I reach a human in scheduling. When my box finally did arrive I called to confirm the pickup. They confirmed they had a trailer and my box would be ready to pick up the following day. I drove an hour and a half for them to tell me my box wasn't ready, and everyone certified to load the box onto the trailer had already gone home for the day. Mind you it was barely 2pm. I was told to come back tomorrow. The next day we drive the 1 1/2 hours again to the uhaul location. They had misplaced my box and we had to wait for them to move other UBoxes to access mine. The manager refused to speak with me and told the guy at the front to deal with it. I was forced to pay for a lock, even tho contracts say a free lock is included in the rental. Not one person could tell me whether the moving blankets were free or not. I still have no clue if I will be charged in the future for blankets. I will never use uhaul for another move. The lack of communication is astonishing. This has been the most stressful move of my life, and all could have been prevented with good communication.Emma M.

This is definitely the worst UHaul I have ever worked with. They expect you to hookup and unhook thousand pound trailers by your self. The one they assigned to me was turned the wrong way so I had to spend 15 minutes picking it up and backing it out of its spot. When I arrived 15 minutes before they closed just for a quick drop off, they had already locked the doors. Then the self service app kept timing out and I was unable to check the equipment back in. Another customer came before close and someone let them in, so I had to wait at the door for them to be let out and explain to them that the self service wasn't working and they looked at my receipt and said okay just drop the equipment off and they will check it in. Just an awful experience. Will never use this location again.Garrett N.

Check-in process was atrocious. The sign said to wait for an attendant during business hours, but no one came out after waiting 15 minutes. Went in and was told they would email the receipt after check-in. Receipt came 10 minutes later with additional $80 fuel charge. Not happy with the fact that I had to go to Lancaster to pick up a U-Haul that was supposed to be in Dubuque Iowa I had to drive 45minutes out of my way the evening before the pick up day and was charge the normal price i did dispute this charge on my Discovery card because when I dropped the trailer off the young man told me he gave ma a discount and that was not true. Picking up a rental was longer than expected as no one was there to rent. When I needed it for an extra day that was a huge hassle. The rep Said I had returned the truck. The store wrote a truck number down but gave me a different truck to drive. When I returned it said stay in truck. After sitting in the truck for 5 minutes or more. We walked to the entrance to find two employees looking out the window and asking can I help you. Well clearly I need to return truck. They didn't inspect or do anything. I dnt like to give negative reviews but I honestly think that it is rude for people to be on their personal phone. The person that help us was on her/his phone for about a minute or more. She/he was texting while she was checking us in. The day I return my rental I had to call customer service waited for 15min. When customer service answered the phone, explain the reason why I was calling she told me to hold on and transferred me and I had to wait for 2 hours on the line. Anyways the next day, I got a call from uvula in Montgomery and I was trying to explain that I return the truck 6pm and the person who called me was very rude and yell and said where is the keyâ€¦I told him where the key and box number and he jus hang up on meâ€¦So better customer service is what's needed at this locationMarife S.

I reserved two trucks and several (like 10) dollies for two Saturdays in a row to move a school within the same town. I made the reservation 6 weeks in advance. When we arrived, only one truck was held for us. They said they tried to text us but they called an office phone that doesn't have texting capabilities. The other truck was 9 miles in the opposite direction. Also, they had 0 dollies and we reserved 10 on top of the ones that came in the truck for all the volunteers who were planning to help. When I made the reservation, I was told they "had plenty". The manager, Sandra, just kept saying it wasn't her fault and offered no solutions to help us resolve the problem. She just kept saying that corporate offers things they don't have in store. The second week, we got both trucks and again, no dollies, even though I called to confirm they "had plenty." I didn't give a poor rating because it seemed that Sandra was the only one working in a VERY busy location. She was checking people in, grabbing trucks as well as adding hitches to multiple cars. It also just might have been a bad day. Corporate needs to maybe have a better inventory on what each location has because it didn't seem to match. I was thankful to have a positive experience at the Bolingbrook location.Katherine S.

I asked,specifically, about the payment of tolls when I picked the equipment that dat. I was informed by the employee that they had no idea about the how the payment of tolls worked. The Illinois tollway site says that the transponder in the vehicle has to be specific to that vehicle or else I would taken my transponder on the move. So now I get a bill for the tolls with admin fees. I wish I would have told that information up front since, once again, I specifically asked about this very situation before the equipment was driven off of your property. Multiple times I came to load my jeep and the amount of debris and garage the cluttered the floor was ridiculous. 2 flat tires later I not only over paid for a unit but had to replace my tires because of your dirty facility. Within the first 30 days I chose to rent a unit the price went up 15 dollars a month.. way to rob people. Also every time I had to interact with the desk staff there wasn't a mask to be seen. When your trying to take things out of your storage or if your looking for something the lights dont stay on for a good period of time.
