Steve, the manager, and the young woman that checked me in were terrific. Very helpful and they explained everything to me very clearly. I was very very impressed. The original unit I was supposed to get, 7045, was occupied so they quickly found another unit very close, 7041, and an employee showed me where to go. When I came back downstairs the first young woman that helped me met me in the lobby to give me an updated copy of my contract which showed the reversal of unit 7045 and the addition of unit 7041. Great problem solving skills and attentive to me to not make me wait in line again to get my updated contract. Awesome. This location is definitely better than most. My truck had its engine light on and a broken driver's side visor, which I constantly had to move to keep it out of my field of vision. My biggest complaint is the check-in/check-out process. I totally understand the COVID precautions but placing the responsibility on the customer to locate prior damage by comparing a photo to the actual truck, is not a good practice I feel. Most phones are small and with daytime glare, it is very hard to see an image outdoors. I feel it is best to have an agent check the trucks in and out, so as to catch any problems. Not all people have cell phones believe it or not. I just feel this is unfair to the customer that they "catch" prior damage or they are responsible for that damage.Ronald W.

The vehicle I rented was almost out of Fuel,... at or below 1/4 tank. I should have refused it. This made my moving experience very inconvenient as I had to Re-Fuel before using the vehicle, resulting in loss of time! It was similar to hiring a Cab or Uber to go to Work in the morning and the driver has to stop for gas en-route to my destination,... NOT COOL, Also the Ramp was almost impossible to Extend, Lock, and Retract due to previous usage. I have rented numerous times in the past from the Baltimore Street location, and have been satisfied. My truck rental was fine. However, I also rented a storage unit to store my new items in before moving into my apartment on 12/21. I checked into my storage unit when I picked up the truck at 4:45pm today (11/9/2021), but the workers at Uhaul never took me to make sure my unit was open/available. They sold me a lock, but did not take me to see my unit. They told me it would be ready when I got back. At 7:05pm, I got back to the facility with my belongings in the back of the uhaul. When I took everything up to my storage unit, my unit was locked. It was clearly being occupied by someone else. I called the number in my storage unit confirmation email. The man who answered said he was in Arizona and couldn't do anything to help me except connect me to customer service to file a complaint. I sat on hold waiting to speak to customer service for 45 minutes before giving up. During that time, I found an empty, handicap storage unit. I locked my stuff in there. I had no where to put my brand new belongings - over $15K in new furniture and needed it to be safe. I will now need to go back tomorrow morning to explain what happened and make sure my belongings are safe. All around terrible customer service and did not get what I paid for. So glad to have a uhaul within walking distance of my work. I work with Veteran's and often they need assistance moving and so I provide that service when it comes my way. I waited in line for an hour to pick up a cargo van rental. There was 1 guy working the register doing the best he could. He needed at least 1 other person working another register to handle the amount of customers in line. Then when I finally got into the van, it had a low tire pressure message. The guy working assured me it was fine and that it was just a sensor issue, but it was very unnerving to drive a vehicle with a low pressure message. This U-Haul needs better service inside the building; last week there was NO ONE inside for at least 5 minutes. The person who did come to serve us is the same person who checked-in my truck return outside. His name is DaDaniel; he was cordial and finalized my truck rental bill quickly & effeciently. More U-Haul staff like DaDaniel is needed. Another employee was present when I came inside but she left without anyone else being there to help me (no other customers were waiting at that time). Everything & everyone was satisfactory. I took pictures of discrepancies of vehicle prior to leaving as to not be responsible for tears, etc. There was an issue with the bill/ contract but staff corrected the mistake effectively & efficiently. When I got to the location to pickup the equipment, I didn't recall my account information to sign in for reservation service. The staff were very helpful so not recalling my information was not an issue. However after I left and reviewed my contract, I noticed that I was charged double! Meaning instead of $19.95 or $7.00 for equipment I was charged $39.95, $14.00! When I made the staff aware of the mistake, they corrected it quickly without an argument. So yes I'd advise customers to use the location/ Baltimore new center area. Have large selection of vehicles, trailers and moving items.GREGORY P.

Let the customer know before hand that there will be a $150. Charge if there is smoking in around or near the rental. We were unaware of that policy. Yes. There were signs in the truck that stated no smoking but did not know you could not stand near the truck & smoke. I feel that is a ripoff. I have never experienced this fine policy no where else. On top of that the worker was ignorant to engage a fight with the customer because the customer was very upset about the $150. This facility will be very convenient, accessible during foul weather conditions with its covered loading and unloading facility. There are plenty of moving dollies available free of charge to move your personal items back and forth between your locker and vehicle. I like that the units are climate controlled especially during the colder part of the year or summer time. Staff are very friendly and helpful and you can get all your packaging needs on site. The staff was slow, unclear, and unhelpful. Instructions to get to my unit were unclear and the code that they gave me for the elevator didn't work. Every time I opened my unit the alarm would sound because the system did not sign the unit over to me. Most of the staff, except for one, was unhelpful about this and it was not resolved. Thank you for all of your help during the coronavirus outbreak. I know you are all working hard, while trying to keep safe and healthy. My moving guys reported a less-than-stellar move-in experience. The man driving the truck had to wait 45 minutes for someone to move a car out of the driveway in, and said he couldn't get in without it being moved. He had to wait 15-20 minutes for people to come up and down on the elevators to get them in and out of the units too.
