My experience was very inconvenient at every corner. During the move in, my reservation was to a different Uhaul location that was managed by this office. The access gate wasn't working so I was forced to relocate to this location. I reserved an outside unit, which wasn't available so I was forced to get an inside unit at a much more expensive rate. There's typically only 1 worker ever to be found, multiple times we were waiting for 30 plus minutes to even talk to someone. Made error in my return date, charge my account, and I had to do all the leg work to fix the problem, and have to wait many days to get my refund. Before you blame the banks understand you took it upon yourself to charge me without even calling me. This is inappropriate!!!!MICHAEL M.
The first day of rental I was not able to rent even though I had it reserved. Rescheduled for a week later. Picked up truck and mileage was off and gas tank not full. Got home and realized they didn't give me the dolly's i pre rented. Went back to location and guy said yeah we didn't have time to get the online rentals ready today and we were so busy when you came in to get the key I didn't tell you. I lost money on this whole Thing bc I paid movers for a Sunday when I wasn't able to get reserved truck and then lost another hour going back to shop to get dolly's with paid movers waiting around.JAYLENE D.

I was appalled when I opened the trailer that I spent $1300 on to move my household in only to find that is smelled like a barnyard and had literal rabbit poop lining the floor. It was disgusting and now my cloth items smell like poop. Horrible experience.Sophia R.

We were loaned a plug in adapter for the lights We gave it to the employee when we returned the trailer on Saturday. On Monday I hreceived a call saying the adapter had not been returned and they would have to charge it to my card. My husband called and the employee said he would check with the employee that was on duty when we returned the trailer. We have heard nothing since and would like to know that we are not having to pay for something that we do not have and returned as was the agreement.Jim M.

A clean location, but the rental office location was not clearly marked, nor could it be viewed from the frontage road. This location is a former Sears store and the front parking lot has outside storage lockers and Uhaul trucks blocking the view. Furthermore there was no clear access drive into the property as there are multiple entrances into the old parking lot.Lyle C.

Several glitches with web check in and check out. Friendly staff though. Wouldn't let me begin the checkout process, after several attempts, an hour early, which was fine because there was a creepy vehicle roaming the parking lot and I had to call the Fairbanks Police Department anyway.Jennifer A.

Was very surprised to find out there were mileage charges that were double the cost of the one afternoon rental of the 15' moving van. Not recommend a van to be used in the winter in Alaska. The van spun out constantly. And wouldn't go up even a small hill or drive way. When expressing this to the upfront clerk all she said was well we don't control what we get. Like that was the best answer. This experience was particularly bad for me and my family. We came to pick up a 26ft uhaul on 12.31.20 at 6:30pm to find out that who I spoke with on 12.28.20 at about 1pm misbooked the rental to be returned at 4am 1.1.21. I requested the uhaul for 24hrs from 6:30pm to 6:30pm on the phone when reserving the truck. The employee working let us know it was policy that we would have to have it back or we would be "red flagged" and would be charged an additional fee. The employee working that night called his supervisor to make sure that was the propper policy and informed us we would need to have the uhaul back by at least 9am because it was booked for the next morning at 10am. He let us know that the 10am booking was made 2 days after i called to reserve on 12.28.20. He also let us know that there was no way to correct the situation that a member of your staff caused because you "need to get as many contracts as possible". We ended up renting a 20ft uhaul because that is the only way around our timeline. I feel like this situation needs to be corrected because it was a large inconvenience to an already stressful situation.Rowan L.

The trailer was clean. But after I loaded it one of the tires was low. I couldn't tell that it was low when I picked it up only after I loaded the trailer. That made for an extra stop to put air and it was more difficult while pulling a trailer.HANNAH I.
Pick up was streamlined since I filled everything out ahead of time. But the return process was less than ideal. Zero to no communication about wait time. Walked in, to two customers waiting ahead of me. Girl at register said she was on a lunch and her coworker would be with us shortly before heading to the back. Sign on the counter said â€œback in 5 minutesâ€, waited 23 minutes before two guys arrived. Wasn't sure if it we would have her help us after her lunch since the wait took so long. Meanwhile there was another girl sitting in a chair hiding behind a sales rack playing on her phone. Not sure if she was an employee or not, but she ignored everyone. We tried our best to stay patient, but there is only so many times you can walk a Small lobby before it becomes redundant. A customer had to go outside and look for them, when he returned he came back with the employees. Very unprofessional, would have left if I didn't need a printed receipt. When asked why it took so long the cashier said we could have dropped it off by signing in to the app and dropping off the keys in the drop box.Jose C.
I'm not sure. The employee who waited on us didn't know what she was doing. The first truck had the check engine light on and she wanted us to go ahead and take it, umm, no. Hubby had to clean the snow off all 3 trucks she brought out, he fell off truck 2 while cleaning it. Truck 2, first the gas reading was way off & then the milage was off by 10,000 miles. We were on contract 3 by now. I don't know why that couldn't be fixed, but on we went to truck 3 which we ended up with. As frustrating as all that was, we ended up getting stuck in the snow and since we bought the insurance, it was covered and that made all the aggravation somewhat better. We will be using the College Rd store but will avoid Airport Way. I almost forgot this, they called us the next morning asking if we still wanted the truck. They didn't even know we had the truck. She hadn't leased it to us. That was really contract 5. The person we talked to on the phone about getting it out of the snow was just frustrated (we're in Alaska and she couldn't comprehend no paved roads being near and still useable) and tried to deny the claim. The manager here in Alaska did understand and overrode her denial. It turned out okay but it was frustrating getting to the ok part!Edward G.

Absolutely the worst customer service on the Fairbanks end. First of all the agent wanted to charge me an extra day for being an hour late, what's up with that??? There was a full lot of trucks... I actually picked it up early because you called me and said there were too many trucks and it would be helpful to pick it up early. If you really want a suggestion please replace the agent on the Fairbanks end...it made the whole experience leave a sour taste in my mouth. I will definitely be repeating this story to anyone who will listen!!!Lee S.

During my rental I had to extend my rental each day because I still needed the truck, my bill was close to $300.00 that was already charged to my credit card and on Tuesday the 13th of October I missed the drop off for the uhaul truck at 8:45am and was busy working to complete what I needed the truck for when my mother called me very upset because a uhaul employee called her threatening to report the truck I was renting stolen and that was completely unrational, over the top bad customer relations. I returned the truck this morning as I walked in the office at 8:35am a man swiftly got up from a chair walked around towards me did not look at me, did not speak to me but reached his hand out for the key and as I extended my arm he snatched the key still he did not say a word I followed immediately behind him as he headed for the truck I had rented. He approached the truck almost to open the door and I told him to have a good day and that his rude customer service accompanied with the threat of criminal charges is unacceptable. To be treated so rudely by a uhaul employee is disgusting and shows how this world is the way it is. I am awaiting a return call from my Laywer I have never been treated so badly in my life.Alyss S.
Don't overcharge their credit card for 2days when it was only one day rental. Listen to the customers when they're trying to show evidence of one day rental oppose to 2 days. Don't get all caught up in your feelings when you know the customer is right and threaten to call the police like an idiots. Anybody can call the police!!!! Therefore, the U-Haul worker threatens to call the police on an innocent customer who I turn helps the worker out by calling the police for him. The drop off experience was a bit weird. The lady directed the guy in front of me to a parking space out front. They appeared to be done and I pulled in the space next in line. The lady never made eye contact, my windows were down, but she never said anything to me, she just turned and walked away. The office is a good 100 yards away and I just sat there in a surreal situation: what is that all about? I called inside and said "um? what's going on?" and the guy at the desk said "oh, she's busy". "Um? ok is she also blind, deaf, and mute? She could have a little courtesy and communicate." That guy then came out and was training someone, but never had the courtesy to say: "sorry about that snafu". He said about two words to me (in fairness he was training someone).Jon D.

I was charged foe 3 days more than what I had the rental for - the employee who I dealt with when picking up my trailer told me I could drop off trailer after hours and made NO mention of needing to use an online app to say it had been dropped off. Someone tried to cut my lock, so I bought a second lock from you and at that time “Someone “ went into my unit, I’m the only one with both keys!! They stoked 200 rounds of ammunition for my gun, went threw EVERYTHING!! And broke my Easter decorations ( Which is my favorite Holiday). If I could give zero stars I would. My locker got broken into and the staff did nothing to help. Your location in Fairbanks, AK has no security, no cameras, no fence.
