The rating is for the company.I could use my old lock but clearly I had to pay for a new one anyway as it comes with it. We moved doing ring a rainy weekend and the truck leaked. Not from around the door but in the back. Some of our furniture got wet. The following morning when we were going to do a second load, the truck had taken so much water on overnight we used a shovel to empty it. When we told the guy at uhaul the next day he wasn't sympathetic at all and said â€œ best I can tell ya is to call Larryâ€ I won't be using this company againHeather B.

When I arrived the van I was to pick up was blocked in. During the time I had the van I received a concussion and could not return it on time. I explained this to them and said I was looking for someone to drive it back for me. They said it didn't matter I had to have it back by 10am. No care or concern or problem solving. I brought back the vehicle a few days early and I thought i would get a credit. The employee informed me that they were unable todo this and I should have been told when I booked the vehicle as well when I picked it up. I was not told this and ended up extending my rental even longer and was not told then either. I booked and extended over the phone directly through uhaul. The employee at the St. John's location said â€œ it was probably my pick up locations fault because they do what they wantâ€.roy B.

When i arrived the uhaul i needed had faulty wiring and needed repairs. Came back after an hour and still not done. They gave me a different uhaul but the lights didnt work. I went and had my relay replaced (nothing wrong with old one) and then it 'worked'. By this time the store that was holding my furniture for pickup had closed so i had to overnight in st. John's and pickup in the morning. Then, the office in Corner Brook wasnt opened on Sundays, even though i discussed with the agent that i neesed a storage locker on that day. So i had to drive the uhaul to Burgeo and pay someone to return it for me. I was also charged extra for the extra days, even though i called an agent and was granted a free extension to accommodate for the store closure on Sunday. Overall it was not well organized and it stressed the heck outta me, not to mention tons of extra costs and time.Jonathon M.

I had a horrible experiences with U-Haul this time . I've always used this location as well as recommended it but not anymore!!! Terrible customer service in store, an ignorant associate spoke nasty to me who wasn't even serving me, my 23 year old daughter witnessed this!! The associate who finanally served me after waiting 20 minutes (ridiculous) had the audacity to have an attitude with me as the other associate was dropping her unnecessary & uninvited comments. I am disgusted and will not use this location ever again!! I strongly recommend staying away from the KENMOUNT ROAD location in St. John's, NLTina B.
The brakes on the cargo van we had rented were not good. the van shook when they were applied. The information was passed along to the attendant at the end of the day. We were 30 minutes late picking it up in the morning and 30 minutes late in returning and the attendant we returned it to was going to charge a fee for another full day rental because we returned it late. This fee was removed because I would not agree to payment. The experience for pickup was good...drop off not so much! Convenient service as we could pick up on weekend.Lynn W.

Friday September 2nd at 10am the man behind the counter was extremely rude! He berated multiple clients and complained to everyone how much he hated his job. I do not believe this man should be in any situation that involves customer service.Sarah B.
The men who served my boyfriend and I were ok, the service was ok. The system however is flawed in my opinion. The total for our rental came to $76 and all I had was $80 cash which should have been enough (I had $20 on debit for gas) the problem then was the minimums that are set in place. $100 when paying in cash, and $125 when paying debit. When I asked if I could give $80 cash and the $20 from my debit, that wasn't good enough because then im "paying with debit" and the minimum is $125 for some reason. We had to leave and go to the bank, take out the remaining $20 to be able to give $100 for the rental. We missed out on an hour with the rental and then had no money for gas (the truck only had a quarter tank of gas when we got it) To then be given back $34 once we returned the truck. What a backwards system. Also, driving the truck is dangerous aswell because the speedometer is in mph and the kph can't be read so it's very difficult to know the speed I was driving. Also, the images that were sent to us for the initial inspection were very outdated. I wish there was a Canadian version of this company. The pinpad is set up for the US, honestly I'm surprised we didn't have to pay for the rental with USD ! What a stupid systemNoel L.

Don't call customers to bring in their vehicles for appointments they have waited weeks for without making sure the parts you have to order from another country aren't bent/damaged/incorrect. Front Desk staff were difficult, uncooperative and conveyed a general negative attitude. The facility was not monitored or maintained and the vermon infestation is appalling. The facility was very convenient with a lot of storage options and staff were very helpful in finding the solution that suited my needs. A few points that could be improved on: 1) when I initially signed in I was told the billing would be automatic on my credit card. This wasn’t the case and I was charged for non payment on the second month. 2) only one of the two loading bay doors was usable. The second was consistently blocked with uhaul equipment. This caused some congestion with myself and other tenants. Overall, I’m very pleased with my experience however. I will rate my experience on my most recent phone call with Mr. Leonard Mackey from Uhaul, Kenmount Road, St. John’s NL. I have been a client of Uhaul self storage at this location for one year now, I acquired 2 units in January 2021 upon a sudden move to Ontario. At that time, I received 110% Great Customer Service from one employee (I am unsure of his name but he has dark hair, stands about my height 5”9, average build, has the voice of a tv host or radio show host… I feel you could distinguish him by this comment) however, this guy is your guy if you need every spec of information you need or will ever want to need about storage or anything else you ask in the Uhaul area. Very much an asset to the store on Kenmount. Back to Mr. Mackey though … I had called to speak to him last week due to a late payment on both units for over one month. Mr. Mackey returned my call and left me messages until he reached me with a number I had left for him. When we did get in touch I explained my recent car accident on December 3rd which caused my delay in my payments, and how I was just now getting back to myself and getting my finances straightened up. Taken back by my unfortunate events these past 2 months he informed me of my extra charges, and late fees along with my total of both units. But while doing so, he was able to remove a total of $30. With a credit payment over $700 I was about to make, at this point minus $30 fee to some wouldn’t seem to lighten the day. But it was Mr. Mackey himself with his empathy for my situation that made me write this today. I won’t elaborate any more, but I would recommend this location to anyone who is in need of storage always given my experience.nicole l. | First Impressions

I was disappointed to find out after closing my contract for my storage unit that I would not be compensated for the remainder of the days left in my contract. I paid 143.67 on Dec. 23 and that brought me to Jan 23 I thought the balance would be refunded to my visa. I personally think that this is not good customer service. Happy with my experience. Only issue was parking. We had a truck and trailer, and it was extremely difficult to drive to our unit because of all the rental vehicles stored in the way. Which also made it hard to maneuver and turn around because you can not just drive through.
