There are clearly a bunch of mice in the facility, and there rat droppings on my stuff. If there was any food in there it would’ve been a lot worse. The people there were great but I was charged for fuel which I filled it back up to where it was and there's no reason to charge me for fuel. I rented three trucks within the week and none of them were full so I know it's a little game that gets played with the fuel. We arrived letting them know we had trouble with the truck and they recommended we go home and unload the truck before coming back. Turns out it was the power steering fluid which the technician said they could have easily filled up when we stopped.Jenny G.

Make sure trucks are cleaned and in proper working order. As the largest, best-known vehicle rental company in the U.S., a customer should expect a quality product. And when there are issues with quality, the customer should receive immediate and unwavering confidence that they will get the best product. The pickup location was found by me to be lacking But other facets of my UHaul experience were very pleasant, in fact, enjoyable. This location on State saved our move. The place where we were sent originally had a wrong size trailer, too big for our car. At the last moment Joanna from Connecticut U-haul office sent us to this location. She was an only person who really cared and knew how to help. I talked to many people from the U-haul Company and nobody helped me. I had scheduled the rental a month before our trip and the day before I have received several phone calls and emails confirming the rental. When we arrived to the distant location for pick up, the promised trailer was nowhere to be found.Richard B.

Terrible customer service in Florida scheduling office. They can't give you any accurate information and never call back when they say they're going to call back. Didn't take any accountability for the numerous misinformation and mistakes made on their end. I do not recommend this service unless you want to deal with stress and aggrevation through your moving process. I've had to chase them down for refunds owed to me due to late arrival and over charging. Some items did get wet in transit but only one thing was ruined due to water mark. I will say that the CT store I dealt with was very helpful and were great at communicating with me. Once my furniture was transferred into FL is when everything went down hill. Staff is completely unhelpful and do not follow any of the official procedures. They did not respect my initial reservation, so I had to pay for a storage facility twice the size and the cost than what I needed. The storage room was very dirty and with debris. They didn't even mind to clean it up for me. Upon move out, I did the online checkout because it was out of business hours. They did not attend my check out request and I was still getting notifications of rent due, etc. It was not until I went in person, three weeks later, that they completed my request. The information about the unloading process and payment was terrible. When I purchased and pre-payed for it, the process was explained in a much different way than it worked when my container arrived. Everyone at Uhaul on the arriving end was not very cooperative and basically told me I was not telliing the truth. The other issue was that it was impossible to make a correctiom to info regarding phone numbers that were entered incorrectly by the Uhaul rep originally. Because of that, it caused many problems that could have been prevented by providing a Uhaul rep of myself the ability to make the correction. The delivery, moving, and delivery all went very well. I originally went to the orange uhaul. I would give the orange uhaul a -20 if I could!!!!! The woman â€œpatâ€ in Orange CT was rude and disrespectful. The other guy was a little better but in the end I had to go online to find another location with a 5x8 trailer since they refused to give me a 12 foot trailer. Online your website said I could pull a 12 foot trailer. I even got a call 2 days before confirming my reservation and the fact that I could pull that size trailer with my car. I spoke at length to the uhaul woman and she confirmed that I could pull a 12 foot trailer. I called the ORANGE office 2 days before and left a voicemail but they never responded. When I showed up in Orange CT they said I can't rent that size trailer. I explained that I checked online and spoke with a uhaul rep and both places confirmed it would work. The guy behind the desk in orange was vague about why I could not pull itâ€” he kept talking about the size of the ball yet made no attempt to even look at my hitch to determine the size of the â€œballâ€. I have a uhaul trailer hitch rated fir 3500 pounds. When they refused to give me the 12 foot trailer I asked for an 8x5. They were very snotty and said â€œ oh we don't have any - kids are moving into college so we are out.â€ When I asked if another uhaul had one the guy mumbled â€œ I don't know how to do thatâ€. The woman PAT had already stormed off saying â€œ I can't deal with this!!!â€ She had the worst customer service skills of anyone I have ever felt with!!! So I referred to the email confirmation I had received to rent the 13 foot trailer and called that number. They were able to tell me that new haven had a trailer So I went there . The staff have always been helpful, however, the email below written to the GM remains unanswered since 8/15/21: I moved out of my storage unit 1052 this afternoon and was appalled to find not only rat droppings on some of my belongings, but a dead rat in my unit as well. It's evident there are traps everywhere including in the units, but I had to throw away a sectional sofa rather than risk potentially bringing a virus into my new home. What is the U-Haul company policy when it comes to vermin? To my knowledge, there is nothing mentioned in the storage contract, therefore, I am kindly requesting reimbursement for damages to my possessions. Please advise in terms of next steps. This contract was a nightmare, it was supposed to be 90 days maximum. My daughter was supposed to pay the thing while I was away, when I returned the price was so out of control that I allowed them to take the item this was over a year ago. Now all of a sudden finally they have taken the items but they sent me a bill for over $3,000 trying to get me to believe that I was liable for it. I came back to my storage unit to find dead mice everywhere. The current tally is up to 5, but I still have a few boxes to go through. Several items of sentimental value were destroyed by these mice. Of the items that weren't outright ruined, many reek of mouse excrement/decay, and will likely need to be thrown out. I do feel badly for these mice, who had to spend their final moments in such an unclean and unwelcoming establishment. I only hope that they found some solace nestled in the shreds of my old t-shirts and childhood memories. The infestation aside, U-Haul employs some really predatory billing practices, making it extremely difficult to pay your month's rent in advance of the due date. They then charge you if it's late. After a very frustrating phone call in which I was blamed for not using the "Future Pay" option (no such option exists), I was told my late fees would be waived if I enrolled in AutoPay. I made three different reservations using my credit card for your storage facility and when we went to show up to put the items into storage, my reservation was given away. It was told to me, that you only take a dollar to hold the box however, I don’t understand why I just couldn’t pay for it. I spent a lot of time on the phone booking another unit with a very well mannered employee, only to find out that giving her all my credit card information didn’t reserve a unit. Fortunately they still had a unit available and I was able to purchase again for the third time only with my uncle being inside the location unlike the other two locations who sold my reservation to someone else. Very long exhausting experience. I ended up with a truck from one location and a storage from an entire different location. Not sure if I’d recommend this process to anyone? When we got to the location, it was not clear how to enter. There was not a clear way to get into the garage part other than asking the attendants to open it for us. Once we got to the storage unit itself, it had a tag on it that said "ready for new customer" but it also had a lock on it. So we had to get the attendants a second time to take the lock off for us. My first experience wasn’t pleasant as by the end of it, I was double billed for everything, they didn’t check whether I used the troll in the truck or not, and when they corrected the bill they did it wrong, and when I told the staff she was irritated instead of apologizing even though I was truly very kind and respectful as I know that such thing happen. The second experience was much better despite that the system gave the employee such a hard time to book the storage unit for me, but the staff was very kind and helpful and truly helped in the best to their power.
