The employees who assisted me this morning at 1700 N Cicero were incredibly helpful and kind. I was having trouble with the UHaul website and retrieving my rental via smartphone, so they helped me by confirming my rental in store instead. I'm disappointed in the failure of the online reservation and difficulty with your website, but the customer service to correct the problem was excellent. The condition of the vehicle was also a minor disappointment, as it had a pungent unpleasant smell and was covered in dirt and animal hair. Overall I'm relatively satisfied with my experience today (better than most other UHaul locations I've used), but hopefully the website is improved before the next time I need to rent a vehicle.

Victoria Guzman took care of us when we picked up our rental. The system was down but she went above and beyond with a work-around that got us on the road after a short delay. I would recommend this location with an "ask for Victoria"!

The gas tank was empty, the left mirror was so dirty I couldn't use it, and it was one of the worst customer service reps I've dealt with. Not to mention I was sent to one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago, when I live within 5 minutes of multiple locations.

Scheduled a time for the pick up. Could not get the truck. The truck and equipment where not ready. Had to remind the employee to get the equipment. Took an hour of my time. The gas tank amount was incorrect. Did not t use or open the moving mats but am still getting charged for them. There should be some sort of discount here. Please reach out to me if you need to discuss this service.

The location I ordered from wasn't the issue, Uhaul is. This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had a paying consumer and I will filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

The staff was not very helpful when I needed assistance moving 12 reusable bins from my car into the store. The bins were disgusting inside & needed to be cleaned before use. When I called to try to extend my rental, no one answered (after calling 6x). This location is definitely not one I'll be going back to again.

This location is trying to scam me. On Saturday March 27th, 2021 I was given the keys and told to walk across the street and pick up my cargo van. When I opened it up from the back, not only did it smell, it had some trash inside. That wasn't a big deal because I can toss the trash before bringing it back. The issue was after picking up my couch and sofa and putting more than required of gas back in the vehicle, I took it back. I pulled up and ask was there anything I needed to do, the employee types some numbers into a handheld device and gives me the thumb up saying I was good. I asked about the receipt, he told me it will be emailed to me. Fine! The next day in addition to the $57. charge, they bill me for $1,103. So, I thought it was a mistake and I called in and asked about it, the customer service connected me to the General Manager Tramell Harris and he started saying that I broke the hinge on the side door. I told him that you may have the wrong person because I picked up two items, a couch and a sofa that was pushed in from the back of the van. He insist that I was the last person with the vehicle and that it was my fault. We got into a shouting match and I told him I was calling corporate. He repeated Call Corporate! Call Corporate! Then my girlfriend grabbed the phone and tried talking to him and he over talked her and cut her off which was very very unprofessional. I called Corporate 3 times since this incident and I'm waiting on someone to call me back. Very unprofessional! No walk through before or after, no checklist of damages?? They just billed my credit card over $1,103. for something I didn't even know was an issue. That's not going to happen! I'll pay for my usage of the vehicle because thats fair, but I will not pay for something they claim I broke. How am I suppose to know what issues the vehicle has? I didn't get into any accidents and I brought the vehicle back within 3 hours. I won't be scammed today! I'm very upset and I demand an apology for such false accusations.

This is what I wrote for the checkout comment portion: i will be sending an email to corporate about our truck fiasco when we received the truck on empty and was told we had to fill with gas for use to receive a credit when all we needed was a clean truck ready to use, how our room wasn't even cleaned out when we moved in, the lack of light not only in the room but in the hallway, the thermostats that read 90° constantly, the lack of toilet paper and paper towels for 2 weeks at a time, and the piles of spilled rice that was left in the hallway outside my room for 2 weeks. There is no way any sanitation practices were maintained and it is a health and safety issue due to covid. I couldn't even complete this form with a light on as all lights except for one have gone out. Horrible, I will never be back.

I spent 10 days trying to close my account. I was on auto pay and didn’t owe anything but was told by corporate I needed the facility to close the account. There is almost always only one person on duty making it very inconvenient for you to see a rep without standing in line with a mask for an hour. The general manager/owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. Corporate also gave me the run around, transferring me from one department to another with no results. Lack of customer service and communication
