When you are renting you are not informed about the rent options. I didn't know that are different plans for unlimited miles and payed miles. If I knew it I would choose unlimited miles instead of paying every single mile!jessica D.

There was a misunderstanding on of the drop-off location of the trailer. The original order specified this location, but paperwork listed another rental center 30 minutes away. Staff was absolutely fantastic in explaining the situation and were able to make some quick adjustments remedying the situation. I had an initially terrible U-Haul experience when a franchisee left me cold rain, saying he wasn't coming in that day, despite my reservation. What??? HOWEVER, Brodee Loggins Jr at the Concord, CA U-Haul rescued me. Brodee and staff were *excellent*. They transferred my reservation details, and got me a new van ready at their location. When I arrived, their friendly staff helped me through the checkout and I was on my way. When I returned, it couldn't have been simpler - they checked the vehicle back in for me. And they were sure to cancel the previous unfulfilled reservation so I wouldn't be charged. Next time, I'll just start with Brodee and team at Concord and know they'll handle the request professionally and reliably. Thank you guys for making it right, and making it easy. First I was supposed to pick up the truck in Brentwood at time confirmed , we show up and no info was to be found for our rental , we were then sent to Anitoch to pickup the truck at a different time . Very busy and chaos at this site no where to park . Waited in line for about 45 minutes to be told that they didn't have the reservation there . We were then sent to a other site in concord. By then we were way behind schedule . They did confirm our rental and we're sorry for all the B-S that we were just put thru . We should be compensated at least 50% off for delayed time and total confusion. Please hear meBernardino V.
The truth is,...'I'm Feeling Totally Spoiled', with the ease of renting a vehicle at U-Haul (Concord/Monument Blvd) facility. The excellent Customer Service begins immediately after you walk through the door. Kathleen is there to pleasantly greet you, she then gets you through the required paperwork, and she does all of this while making the U-Haul rental customer feel valued, and very appreciated. She's such a good will Ambassador for the company. Upon returning the vehicle, the customer service pleasantries don't stop, I had 'Ovonte' greet me with a smile, he checked in the vehicle, asked me if I had any problems with the vehicle, and then he thanked me for choosing U-Haul. Hire more staff! Kathleen provided me with excellent service and was very patient and helpful in finding me the best deal possible and making sure that I was set up for this move. However, it was a busy Sunday in that location and there were other customers who needed assistance too, and there simply were not enough other employees to help. I cannot say enough about Kathleen though, she was great to work with and I commend her highly for her service.James W.

Staff is untrained, rude and have no sense of customer service or professionalism. The truck was barely holding together and having motor issues. The night crew was much friendlier and seemed to be better put together. But the morning crew you had there, you should fire everyone of them. The truck I reserved was "buried" on the lot and they could not get it out. So they had to give me a smaller truck with out easy load skids. I also reserved an appliance dolly but when I was checking out they said there were non still available so I had to settle for a regular dolly. Another 'Top Notch' U-Haul rental accomplished, starting out with your amazing counter rental representative 'Kathleen'. Kathleen's amazing customer service skills were on full display once again, she has that wonderful ability to complete all the necessary rental paperwork, but also through her very pleasant demeanor make me feel so welcomed, and appreciated as a U-Haul customer. The truck was dirty but the lady helping me with my reservation was one of the best customer service representatives I've met in my life! Probably the best. I'm not exaggerating. The line was long and she acknowledged us while we were waiting. When she spoke her kindness was real. She actually made my day better. Paid for dolly, none was provided. Conflicting information on mobile pick up and drop off instructions vs actual in person experience. Trip information in ford transit not reset making me worry about whether I would be overcharged. No clear signage inside indicating that I could pick up my key without waiting in line after reserving online. Did not feel comfortable interrupting other customers at front desk to retrieve keys so waited in line for a long time just to pick them up. Also was surprised to find no gas in the tank when picking up the truck which delayed my trip and was not a good customer experience.Colin M.

I was scheduled to pick up a truck in Bay Point, there was no truck there. U Haul customer service sent me to regional dispatch, regional dispatch found me a truck at Monument Blvd in Concord. I was out of my mind with worry when I got to Concord, and wasn't confident that there would actually be a truck there. We had arranged for a loading crew that day, and had a tight timeline to get back to Washington, so a delay would be annoying and expensive. One of the CSR, Kathleen, was friendly, and made it clear we would be taken care of. She radiated calm and helped me through the process. She also found me an option to return the truck at another location for an additional credit. With the cost of gas, opportunities to reduce costs were very welcome. In general, U Haul people were friendly, and she stands out for me. After we picked up the truck, U Haul sent me a text saying that I was to return the truck to Bay Point - I have a screen shot of the text. Since it was a one way rental to Washington state, and since I never picked up any truck in Bay Point, I figured it was another example of U Haul's weak computer system. We received enough strange communications from U Haul that we read the text messages with caution. We did a load share, and there was some drama getting the initial load, and miscommunications from U Haul.George S.

I clearly stated I did NOT want the $25 coverage charge and yet there it still was on my receipt. Not okay. I will argue this charge and if it is not deducted from my bill, will rate UHaul poorly and not return. Also, the dimensions of the door opening on the van are not accurate. The item I rented the van to transport did not fit through the opening, even though we'd confirmed it would fit based on the dimensions publicized. Turns out there is curvature on the corners of the opening, which changes things a bit.Samantha S.
The staff at this U-Haul location went 'Above and Beyond' to assure that I felt welcomed, and appreciated as a U-Haul customer, I greatly appreciate receiving that special treatment level of customer service. Special shoutouts to 'Kathleen' at the initial rental counter checkout in the morning (she's an extremely pleasant person, and very informative), and also 'Anthony', who conducted my rental vehicle return inspection/check in process. He (Anthony) had my final cost assessment, and he had also emailed me my final cost receipt before I had vacated the U-Haul property. Trailer has a sidewalk bubble, extremely unsafe to tow with. I ended up not using it out of risk that I would get a blowout. Trailer also smelled like weed, renter before me must have smoker in it, then when returning the trailer, there was a line of 12 trucks and trailer and I had to loop around the block several times with a trailer before I could get in to the lot. The attendant that did end up helping me was good, friendly and professional but I wouldn't reccomend someone use this location as it cannot handle the capacity they try to rent from it. Also the tire was a huge risk and kept me from towing with anything in it so would reccomend someone renting here check there stuff themselves or go elsewhere.matt H.

The best uhaul experience I've ever had! Kathleen was really helpful and knowledgeable. Made sure we had everything for our move. The process was easy, fast and we had all the equipment ready for our move. The manager Brodee had a good deal on storage too! Definitely helpful staff and affordable prices. 1st CS person rudely told me my reservation was CANCELLED because I was 30 minutes late. She was then corrected and I was told where to go to get my trailer. Then the trailer had BOTH tail lights that were faulty and not working. It took them over 2 hrs to fix the tail lights. Upon returning the trailer, it took over an hour. This location seems poorly managed with staff that isn't very cs friendly nor very motivated.. I'd look elsewhere for rentals.Gary C.

The speedometer and my phones GPS reading was 3mph off at 65 mph. Truck read 65 and Google maps read 62. I'm assuming it wasn't intentional but when the cost is per mile and I traveled 375 ish miles it's a bit annoying.Alex L.
