CARLIE PARTINIn pursuit of a trailer rental, I opted for a pickup located in Richmond, VA and a drop off at this location, enticed by their promise of a 24x7 drop-off facility. Regrettably, there was no forewarning of the incremental charges that would later be levied. The rental agreement was for a duration of 48 hours; however, I returned the trailer in less than 6 hours, thus affording them the potential to further rent it out. The return process was undertaken solo, amid inclement weather, without the provision of any assistance from the establishment. My intrigue was piqued when, 30 hours post-return, an unexpected $20 charge was appended to my credit card statement. Subsequent investigation revealed this fee was for the 'privilege' of early return and the lack of staff assistance during the process. Given this experience, I am compelled to withhold any future patronage from this establishment. The quality of service, or the stark lack thereof, has profoundly influenced my perspective on their business practices.
Toby DionIt would be very helpful if details were elaborated during pickup. Explanation as to why the online reservation amount differs from the amount due at pickup and accurate information as to the return date and time. In the past, I have rented through uhaul and have always been required to return it by 11:59pm on the specified date. Even on the details I received via email, it only specifies the date but no specific time. I accrued a total of $157 more than anticipated because of this. I have been a loyal uhaul customer but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.
Joshua TorresThe staff were all exceptional. The only issue that I had, the truck that was given, was full of cigarettes smoke odor! I could have hardly breath. I opened both windows,even that didn't help. Other from that everything was fine.

andres ramosThe truck check-engine light was on the whole time. I was told that was just normal, and that it just goes on and off, which was alarming. No instructions on where to park. The guy running the place was ok though, better than some locations I’ve been. Truck windshield had several small cracks that didn’t show up in pictures and I was afraid I’d be held responsible for. Consider adding a website FAQ about how toll roads are managed and about what’s considered normal wear and tear (eg windshield dings)?

alejandro gamboaThe counter person who helped us inside to rent was very pleasant, explained all about the rental. Once on the road, realized it would have been most helpful if rental place showed where all controls were in the cabin...wipers, lights, heat/air (when driving, risky trying to find controls.) The utility van seats were very comfortable.The van itself was not clean..sand/dried mud(?) In cabin floor, in front of passenger on area where usually a glove box is located, and in back..floor, not swept out/clean..sandy/dirt. THere were multiple dents and dings on exterior, a couple marked with stickers..others not. The dents did not affect driving but were worrisome that the rental place would think I caused the pre-existing damages since they were not all marked nor did the rental place point out the damages. They did not accompany me to the van to show anything. I did not realized, and it was not pointed out the pre-existing dints and dings. Overall, the rental was appropriate for our needs and got the job done.

Tommy MatthewsThe U-haul website and app were glitchy when I was trying to check out the truck and delayed me by around 20 minutes. The section regarding confirming the pictures of the condition of the car was filled out incorrectly by the last person with multiple pictures that weren't of the correct view of the car. When dropping off the car, a person working for the Texaco said they would handle the drop off which made me extremely uncomfortable, but they were very insistent and so I let them. However, this made me feel like I did not have confirmation that the check out would be done correctly and in a timely manner. That being said, the car worked fabulously, all equipment was there, and the location is easily accessible.

Amazing customer service skills on both ends I truly appreciate them making a stressful moving day a smooth operation.
CAITLIN ELIZABET MORRELLThe office smelled terribly of smoke, and the manager was smoking inside while I was there! The entire Uhaul experience was bad. I paid $113 for movers that never showed up. Stayed in hold for 57 minutes to get a refund, finally gave up. I also paid $70 for the truck for 5 hours, and never put anything in it , because the movers I hired THROUGH UHAUL never showed up.

This caused us to be late as we had to find and travel to another location to get moving blankets. Customers should be notified when something they thought they rented will not be available!

Aretha BraswellCharged me for cleaning fee and I obviously cleaned the truck, two old rednecks that struggle with technology and have little to none customer service they should stick to doing the one or two car inspections that they get once a week!! Not a great location at all
Demetrius MarshallA few weeks before my move, I reserved a 15ft truck, hand truck, and moving blankets. I received an email the day before pickup with instructions to go to this location. I arrived when they opened, and they told me they did not have a 15ft truck or any moving supplies. I ended up getting a 10ft truck which made loading my stuff very difficult as I knew it would not be big enough. I was not comfortable driving a 20ft truck as I was moving to a large city. This may not be the fault of this location, but Uhaul should be aware of what each location has available. I had to take a $30 Lyft ride to get there, and I did not have time to try to find another location that had a 15ft truck.
Danielle RonisThe self check-in through the app was HORRIBLE. Melissa was the agent and the agent sent me back to the identity verification page multiple times without telling me what the problem was with my verification. The agent did not respond to my messages for OVER 10 MINUTES. 30 MINUTES after we started the check-in, my identity was still unverified even though I provided a clear picture of my passport and an available parent as the verification contact. The staff at the counter noticed my struggle and was VERY HELPFUL with the in-person check-in and equipment return.

Ashley AldermanMake sure the license plate number they report for verification matches the license plate number on the trailer. Other than that, not a thing. Renting was quick and easy, they put the trailer on and took it off quickly and carefully, and the trailer towed very true, just like it was on rails. Excellent experience, and I've recommended them to a number of people.
