We had two rentals this week. The first was a 20’ truck on July 17, that rental was excellent and the guy that checked us in was courteous & pleasant to deal with. The 2nd rental was a 10’ truck on July 20. We had originally booked this as a self check-in as we were getting to your location before it opened. However when we arrived at 8:40am the open sign was on so we went inside. We said good morning to the young guy there and his response was “ you’re 20 mins too early”. When we said we came in because the open sign was on he snapped “I just flicked it on” and walked away. We proceeded to self check-in and the rest went smoothly. Don’t know what that young guys problem was but he shouldn’t have turned on the open sign if he didn’t want customers to come in.
Doug WThis comment relates to UHAUL's booking system. It seems bookings are approved centrally, which puts local staff at a disadvantage. I was there in person picking up a trailer from the very nice and efficient staff member (who was on his own) when an online reservation came through for the very same trailer. Apparently - and very apologetically - the staff member explained that an online booking trumps an in-person one if the in-person reservation, though in progress, has not been completed. You need to find a solution to this. Your staff member was outstanding: courteous, polite, calm and very helpful. We found a solution with myself, your staff member and the other client.
