How U-Haul Reviews Work⭐️ 1 Star — Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional I had a terrible experience with U-Haul. I reserved a truck one week in advance for a one-way move from the Gilroy location. I was told that the reservation was conditional and that U-Haul would call me one day before the move if there were any changes. Sure enough, the day before my move, they called and told me the truck was not available at the Gilroy location. Their solution was for me to drive 43 miles to Scotts Valley to pick it up. After discussing other options, they told me that if I wanted to pick up the truck in Gilroy, I could do so only as a round trip. I then found out that the Gilroy location apparently doesn’t even offer one-way rentals—so why was I allowed to make a one-way reservation there in the first place? This is completely unacceptable. People make moving arrangements, schedule movers, take time off work, and organize everything around their truck reservation. Then U-Haul waits until the day before the move to tell you that your reservation isn’t actually going to work and offers you inconvenient alternatives. If U-Haul knows that a location doesn’t provide one-way rentals, their reservation system should not allow customers to make one-way reservations there. This was extremely stressful, inconvenient, and unprofessional. U-Haul seriously needs to fix its reservation system and stop putting customers in this situation at the last minute. I would not trust U-Haul with an important move.
