This is the second time I have used this location. The first time I had inadvertently left a few boxes in the vehicle and I was charged for it to be removed which was understandable. I was told one amount by an employee then the owner got involved and charged more than double what the employee said. I talked to him about it and he was very rude. The area manager called me and offered me a discount or credit and I declined both because I just wanted him to know how rude the owner was. This time I returned the trailer one hour late and was charged an extra day. I explained that one of the tires was flat and I had to go to my neighbor to borrow an air tank to air it up. Then due to lots of rain and me driving on a gravel road the trailer had a lot of mud on it so I stopped at a car wash to clean the mud off the trailer before I returned it. These two things caused me to be one hour late with the return. The employee thanked me profusely for letting him know about the tire and for cleaning the trailer so he didn’t have to. I was still charged an extra day for being late. I understand written policy but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I think they are the only dealership in this area and can do whatever they want due to no competition but it still gives U-Haul a bad name.

He said the cost of my rental would be prorated if I returned the van sooner than the 5 days provided and would save me a significant amount off the outrageous $2,300 amount. I made it to my destination in two days only to be told I was lied to. I called the place in Pagosa Springs CO where I rented the can and spoke to the owner only to be told her clerk did admit to what he said but I signed the contract and that was it. Complete crooks!!
