How U-Haul Reviews WorkI was very disappointed with my recent U-Haul rental experience. The rental location itself was fine, and the truck was clean. However, I had a serious problem with the driver’s seat. I could not adjust the seat forward or upward enough to drive comfortably and safely. Because I could not properly adjust the seat, I had to drive extremely slowly and cautiously. This is the main reason it took me longer than expected to return the truck. I did not have another authorized driver because I had no way of knowing beforehand that I would have this problem with the seat. I also had difficulty with the lock on the back of the U-Haul. It was very hard to secure after I loaded my belongings, which caused additional delays. Because of these issues, I returned the truck later than expected and did not have enough time to put gas back in it before returning it. I understand that I may be responsible for the fuel; however, I do not understand the additional charges. I was charged approximately $84 including what appears to be an additional $48 charge, but I was not given a clear explanation of what that additional charge was for. I am requesting that U-Haul review my rental and provide me with an itemized explanation of every additional charge. I would also like consideration given to the fact that the delay was largely caused by my inability to properly adjust the driver's seat and safely operate the vehicle at a normal pace. I am not complaining about the rental location itself. My concern is with the condition and adjustability of the equipment and the unexplained additional charges. I would appreciate a review and an appropriate adjustment or refund of any charges related to the delayed return. U-Haul does have a process for disputing specific invoice charges, so asking for an itemized explanation and adjustment is appropriate.
