Evaluating the entire process. Yes, so much is now automation but u-haul has taken this to a new level that includes no support. No one answers phones - recording and prompts. Tried several times and all recordings were about truck rentals; nothing about storage. Finally got a person who tried connecting me to a person at the location and ended up in the same recording loop. Asked this person, maybe Becca, if she could send me a sample contract to review in advance. Gave her my email as she indicated she could and it never arrived (figured good way to get rid of me …just say yes, and yes, I checked spam. I reached out to GM Codi, never heard back. Finally drove to location but there is not an office or staff. A customer unloading explained where to go and indicated he went through the same. Went to the office and Codi was there. Asked her questions about insurance and the moving help option. She is GM and yet had to ask if someone knew how to use the moving help option online. Really? Signed up for storage unit and insurance. Electronically signed AND THEN given the contract and told to read it later and be sure I agree with everything. Isn’t that a little too late? So I need the storage space and will actually move in this week. Overall a failing grade for customer service and support. I am sure the rest of the process, which is all on me, is lock-step, but you would not want me writing a review, although this will make a great customer service story amongst my friends, neighbors and family. NOTE: radio buttons entered are just to be able to submit. I have not moved in yet. So no is my default as I cannot evaluate those items. Sort of ironic to have the first question be about staff when location is totally unmanned. I suggest a sign-up/pre-move in evaluation that is strictly customer service focused.
