ARIADNE C | Overall ExperienceReally bummed there was no wiggle room on a partial refund. Within a week of renting a space, my circumstances changed. Without physically moving anything in, and also giving back the used lock, I was unable to receive even a partial refund for not using the space and vacating it with 3 weeks left on the clock.
Daniel L | Overall ExperienceThe facility’s lift was not working when I had to move an apartment full of furniture to the upper level. I had to rent another unit in the lower level until the lift was fixed. On one occasion when the lift was funcional a cart rolled to the back of the lift and got stuck. The signage about chains was written in black on a black backing on a sign and not visible. The manager proceeded to blame us for the cart when it was the poor construction and signage in the facility, which was later fixed for obvious problems. The only reason I would not recommend is the treatment of the manager at the palatine facility.

Your IT is from decades ago and is a major time detractor when trying to book in-store or over the phone. Every single time I rent from Uhaul whether it’s a storage unit or vehicle/trailer it’s the same thing, “our system is running slow today”. IT is so inexpensive today for lightning speed, why make it hard for employees to close the deal and customers give you our hard earned money? After 10 minutes of “buffering” and then having to rerun everything is annoying and comical at the same time. It makes for some good banter between your customers and employees as we run out of things to say while we patiently wait. This has been an issue since I started renting 20+ years ago. It’s now just a running joke among all my friends anytime we rent from U-Haul… Every employee that’s ever waited on me and the equipment I have utilized have been excellent. Get your IT fixed and U-Haul will be unstoppable, otherwise keep being laughed at until a savvy competitor comes into town.
