I’m very disappointed with my recent experience using U-Haul Storage. I moved out of my storage unit before the start of the next billing cycle and followed all necessary procedures, and removing my belongings on time. Despite this, I was still charged for a full additional month of storage. I submitted a refund request and provided clear documentation showing the date I vacated the unit. However, my request has been completely ignored. No follow-up, no resolution—just silence. This kind of billing practice feels dishonest, especially when it’s backed by poor customer service and a lack of accountability. I chose U-Haul because of their reputation. If you’re considering this U-Haul Storage (Marine Drive)), be warned: they may charge you for services you didn’t use and then refuse to make it right.

I have a very bad experience with U-HAUL. I had to leave U-HAUL after 4 years. Every time I went to use the ramp to get my tools, they had it blocked by their trucks and I couldn't use it. The storage price keeps increasing. I don't recommend it to anyone.

I don’t think I was ever able to talk to someone on the phone when calling this location, they simply do not pick up the phone, no matter what time you call. About 3 years ago I reviewed this location on google and all my complains from the past are still the same: unfriendly staff and cannot get a hold of anyone over the phone. Also, raising the costs for storage and claiming that the costs of maintenance are high and the staff prides itself in taking care of the facility when customer service is nonexistent and the facility is not even clean is mind blowing to me.

She is always such a kind sweet soul who works hard, is informative on everything and is the perfect person to go to when you have questions. She’s the best part of our experience everytime we went. I hope she continues to be recognized and received A RAISE AND NOT minimum wage. I worked for enough micromanaging managers who never recognize and reward their staff and she most certainly deserves it. The front desk is a different story … when I called to ask about recycling electronics and the recycling reusable item room I saw at the front, I was dismissed CONSTANTLY by the person who answered the call. The phone call was during 2:51pm on August 4. The lady seemed SUPER irritated and annoyed with doing her job by JUST ANSWERING QUESTIONS through the phone with me. No hospitality skills . Horrible . She wouldn’t even provide me any further details to speak to Vipin and if she did, it sounded so rushed and no care in the world. I’m not one to make people look bad, I’ve been doing customer service for over 15 years, and always provide above and beyond service for guests at the best of my ability. I know a difficult guest when I experience one. I was NOT being a difficult guest by one bit. I was asking simple questions. There was also people beside her working too and speaking so loud and not being considerate or have any spacial awareness that she was talking on the phone. I even asked her if the other employees were nearby because I could barely hear her and she dismissed my question. I’m sorry but I don’t appreicate dismissive customer service when I EXPECT THE BARE MINIMUM to be helped. Considering the price I found self storage elsewhere is half the price I pay at uhaul, I thought that’d be the only reason I decided to leave until this experience made me realize why I stood by this decision. The front desk service was not standard and made me feel like I WAS the problem? I know I wasn’t and I can stand by my words for that. I didn’t expect it for just needing answers and with KINDNESS. The 3 stars is a star for cleanliness, the carts are great, and Maggie being a main star. I’m fully aware this would have nothing to do with the GM as I’ve always received prompt responses from him. However, the front desk MUST do better. This is how you lose clients who spend hard earned money but instead are treated like garbage and nuisances when we are just people who expect to be treated fairly and not like we are aliens .. Since you have lots of self storage competitions who you either help, collab with, or compete with, your front team should be well aware it’s easy for people to feel like if they make clients feel like they’re the problem, it’s simple to take business else where and not be as considerate as me writing to you. I kindly ask to be and do better please.

I’ve had a great experience there — the place is always tidy, secure, and well-organized. Big shoutout to Rubal and Maggie, who go above and beyond! They’re super friendly, helpful, and clearly take pride in keeping things running smoothly. It’s not often you come across staff who make storage feel this easy and welcoming. Highly recommend!

So they were so goof at helping me resolve these and concerned, they made me a happier customer at the end of my move. Thanks to Jane Esther for her 5-star assistance.

michael m | Overall ExperienceI’ve spent thousands of dollars and many years using your facility. Had to throw many things away that were destroyed by mice/rats that are plaguing your facility. I made a few complaints but nothing was done or offered. I had met and complied with all of your restrictions and requirements and paid each increase without complaint. I’d recommend you start a loyalty program or something else like a disposal option at your expense for your long term tenants since I can’t be the only one who has had things destroyed.
