I really liked how easy the process was with everything online, though there were a few hiccups. For one - even though the rental vehicle and storage area were bundled and I submitted all of my info in the app for the storage unit, I had to repeat the exact same process for the rental vehicle. Secondly, as a first-time mover, it was hard to find out info on what I should be doing. For starters - the front doors automatically opened, so I stepped inside and then looked for a keypad - which was nowhere between the front entrance and my storage unit....because it was outside and to the left (or alternatively in the vehicle bay, which I'd find out later). Then, I accidentally used the access pad instead of the keypad since they are identical except one says "arm/disarm" on the case. I would honestly put this more on me and not the facility or design, but I think if you're going to put two keypads that have the same exact design, same exact parts, right next to each other, you should probably do something to differentiate them a bit more than just one of them says "arm/disarm" on it. The one argument I would make in my defense is that I went straight from work to pick up heavy boxes for hours and drove to the facility - people moving things tend to be tired and not think well, but ultimately more a "me problem" I think. Thirdly - the after-hours help service buttons that are everywhere are uh...not helpful. When I didn't get someone, it put me on hold and then elaborated over the options I could press on the keypad. You know, the keypad that isn't there because it's a single button? After 10 minutes, I did get someone who told me the keypad is outside, and when I asked for details, they hung up abruptly. Also - the app move in instructions don't really note any of this process. Not so much a picture of what the keypad looks like, or what to do to arm/disarm. Not everyone has a home security system, they're not going to innately know to enter the code to arm or disarm. Secondly - it threatens charges if you don't properly arm and disarm....but even though I would expect this would be trivial to implement, the uhaul app won't actually tell you if it's armed or disarmed on your box. Overall - even though I had a rough experience, relative to other storage facilities the other parts that made it far easier than what I know of alternative storage lots ended up evening out the parts that seemed rougher to me. My impression is that the normal process was built for someone to introduce and guide you in person, which is where it can be a bit more rough if you dont do that. At the same time, consider that going directly from work at 5pm to uhaul to rent, and picking up packages to return to the storage unit...usually going to be at least 7pm by the time you get to the facility. I would really love if the automated process was refined a bit more, because it just makes sense to me. I would want to rate it as average, but the fact that I was able to move in without talking to someone at all is a huge advantage.

The attendant at the facility came over to check on the alarm when we first unlocked the unit and said "some units just always go off". This is very disappointing as we intend to visit the space regularly. Move in took a lot of back and forth, I was very deliberate each time to arm and disarm with our provided code and the unit's alarm did indeed go off every time we accessed it.

Due to the length of extra time it took, the result was an additional $400 in my moving companys invoice.
