The issue or problem is not the location, but the U-Haul system is poorly efficient. The truck engine consumed excessive gas per mile for a short trip, indicating it was deficient, and the U-Haul website malfunctioned during most of Saturday, before the pickup and after the drop-off. I could not get the receipt from the previous reservation and rent because of an extra charge mistake, and I was overcharged again due to truck mechanic issues. I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone, but in the Ashtabula area in Ohio, there is not another company that rents cargo vans or trucks.

Hi U-haul Paying Customer here... I was treated like a second class citizen at this location I am a single mom in the middle of long-distance move and my car broke down during the middle of it. I had about 5,000 square feet of household to transport, on my own to my new home an hour away. The employees at this Ace Hardware, one in particular was extremely rude to me and accusatory and very unhelpful-I needed to keep the van for a longer period of time because I had a lot to move and I had no other vehicle, there was a card on file with an unlimited balance and I am a PAYING customer - it should have been NO PROBLEM. On a Sunday morning right before church I got a text message from UHAUL SAYING they were going to call law enforcement on me to retrive the van, so unecessary I called Ace Hardware to find out why and the manager was ranting at me, telling me off, saying "It wasn't MY truck to keep" that she was "done with the back and forth" and yes, she was going to contact law enforcement What the actual... ???? I had been transparent and communicative the whole time and not only that - I was going through an extremely stressful three weeks while moving, raising my kid and having a very scary breakdown on the highway in my own vehicle. I told the girls I had to move everything, every piece of furniture, every box, by myself and it was really challenging- I also had a neck injury from the move and they couldn't care less The mean manager said she had a responsibility to Uhaul to return the equipment, I'm sorry but last time I checked--- U Haul was a business and here to make $$$ first and foremost, it wasn't like I wasn't paying for the van, daily!! If anything, I've just made UHAUL an extra $2500 -- I should be thanked rather than punished and given undue and unfair anxiety during an already stressful time!!! People these days are truly losing their humanity and cannot even take a moment to walk a block in someone else's shoes. Very unnecessary and upsetting. Also, you're welcome for the money.
