I drive to drop off the U-Haul during the advertised hours of operation, the place was locked, and I was told to drop the keys through the door. I was stuck waiting for half a hour outside in the sun .

We were surprised we were charged a $22 after-hours drop off fee. This was never mentioned previously. Also, self-return was a huge problem. The U-Haul app. would not accept my login credentials, saying Profile could not be submitted and error code 429. I then tried to return the truck through the website, but it couldn’t verify the location and also couldn’t scan the location QR code. Finally, I just had to call customer service and wait 40 minutes to talk to somebody and send my own photos.
