There needs to be clear instructions that there is a secondary lot several blocks further down Main Street where U-haul trucks may be kept. We were supposed to do a mobile pickup of a 26 foot truck at 9 pm. There were two trucks in the lot across the street but neither truck number matched the one we received through the app. We spent over 90 minutes on hold to try to figure out if this truck was even really available. After we started heading back the Customer Service rep Kiona came back after a long hold and told us that she had spoken with the field rep for the area and said there was another parking lot. We turned around and finally found the truck around 11 pm. Then it took an hour to get home. We had movers coming to load the truck at 8 am the following morning and it really got our move off to a bad start.
Phillip IMoore Space did a good job. Corporate on the other hand didn't even try to do the bare minimum. I found out at 7pm the night before I was moving, that the 15 foot truck I reserved was not available. I had to use a 10 foot truck and I had to pick it up at the town I was moving to. So the one way rental became picking it up at the drop off location and it doubled the mileage I was going to be charged. There were other 15 foot trucks in the area but they were reserved for other customers. Just not the truck I reserved. Customer service agent at corporate was not interested in even trying to make it right. I will never be using UHaul again. I'll pay more with another company because they will never leave me in a bad spot like this experience was.
