ROBERT G.I had reserved two utility dollies and a furniture dolly. When I showed up to get the truck, the clerk informed me that he had no dollies and that equipment was "first come first serve". I mentioned that the meaning of reservations is not "first come first serve". I asked what my options were and he suggested that I go to a nearby (non UHaul) rental store or find out other UHaul places that might be open on a Sunday. On my way out, I noticed that there was one utility dolly and two appliance dollies. I was frustrated and desperate since the lack of dollies would make the move a Herculean task. So I grabbed the dollies. I went to the rental place (8 miles) and found it close. I then searched and found another UHaul store and got the dollies I needed (another 6 miles). My bill shows the following charges that I respectfully dispute: a) 29 total miles: 14 of them were due to the breach of the contract, since the local office did not have the reserevd equipment b) a charge for the two appliance dollies which I did not use - I grabbed them because I was desperate c) a cleaning fee. I returned the truck spotless.
