I recently rented a truck from U-Haul for a long-distance move, and while the pickup process and initial customer service were smooth, the overall experience took a serious turn during our trip. While driving through Nebraska, one of the tires blew out on a busy interstate. Thankfully, a sheriff stopped shortly after and informed us that we were very lucky the situation wasn’t worse, the tread on the failed tire was nearly completely worn down. He even provided his contact information in case we needed a report, which says a lot about how concerning the condition of the tire was. After the blowout, we contacted roadside assistance, but unfortunately, the response time was extremely slow. We were stranded on the side of the interstate for nearly three hours, which felt especially unsafe given the traffic and circumstances. Although I do want to acknowledge that the customer service representatives I spoke with were polite and helpful, the delay in roadside assistance and the apparent lack of proper vehicle maintenance are major concerns. To make matters more frustrating, it has now been over 72 hours since I submitted a reimbursement request, and I have yet to receive any follow-up or resolution. Overall, this experience left me feeling unsafe and disappointed. I would strongly encourage U-Haul to improve both their vehicle maintenance standards and emergency response times to prevent situations like this from happening to others.

NATHAN WThe clerk at the liquor store where I picked up the trailer was not knowledgeable about the system. It took over 30 minutes start to finish for check in with very few customers to the liquor store and no one else picking up a u-haul.
