I provided feedback to the local U-Haul representative about the transmission issues on the 15' box truck. If it is not serviced, it will fail. The truck would not shift out of low gear twice during my 60-mile round trip. The windshield wiper fluid did not work, so it is either out of fluid or the pump is down. The windshield was dirty, and the inside of the cab hadn't been wiped down in quite some time. The gauges were hard to read because caked-on dust covered the dashboard, doors, and the clear plastic shield on the control panel. The representative was as good as I have ever had with any rentals. I told him about the transmission but didn't have time to point out all the other opportunities for a better experience. This truck has 133K miles and may be ready for a good servicing or replacement.
John JThe option to return the truck after hours without a financial penalty was a huge bonus and took the pressure off the day. And in the end I did return the vehicle during hours. One less pressure during a complicated move was greatly appreciated!!
