My experience picking up my U-Haul truck was extremely disappointing because of the customer service I received. My reservation was for July 10 at 1:30 PM. When I arrived, the doors were locked and no one was inside. Around 1:50 PM, an employee came around the corner, looked at me and another customer who was waiting with her young son, sighed loudly, and then went inside. He eventually unlocked the door but never apologized for the delay. He barely acknowledged us, didn’t greet us, and continued doing other tasks at a very slow pace before finally asking for my information. Throughout the entire interaction, he was rude and unprofessional. He made both me and the other customer feel very uncomfortable. When I asked if we were going to do a walk-around inspection of the truck, he simply said “no.” He also told me the fuel level was at 1/4 tank, but it was actually on E. Thankfully, I took photos before leaving. When I returned the truck, I showed the pictures to the employee who checked me in. The woman who assisted me during the return was wonderful friendly, professional, and helpful. She completely changed my impression of the return process. U-Haul, please do better. No customer should be treated the way we were during pickup.

Hyon MThe truck they gave me stopped working after only driving about 30 miles and I got stuck on the side of the highway for over two hours. They need to do better maintenance on their trucks.
nayef mTechnology is advancing so rapidly that I couldn't quite keep up with the mobile-based procedures, but I am very grateful to the staff member who treated me so kindly. Although I had handled the process online beforehand, I hadn't uploaded my driver's license since it was listed as optional; at the office, I had to take a photo and send it via text message, which I struggled to do. It would probably be best for other customers—especially older ones—to upload everything from home before visiting.
