Customer service when calling the store was completely absurd. Disrespect and complete disregard for the customer. If they are giving service on the phone like that I could imagine in person. I love using U-Haul but will never return or get truck from here again just because of the disrespect and attitude which was uncalled for

Adrian HActual person who helped me with the truck pickup was great and very helpful. Sign on outside of building says "uhaul rental inside" pointing towards the front door. The man behind the counter was very irritated/rude and kicked me out of his store as soon as he found out I was picking up a uhaul. If given this location for pickup by Uhaul, I would strongly suggest calling to switch to a different one.
Bernard SMy experience with U-Haul was disappointing overall. The rental process did not go smoothly, and the service did not meet expectations. There were issues that made the move more stressful than it should have been. I would not recommend this location based on my experience and would likely consider other options in the future. I reserved a 24-hour truck rental for 9:00 PM pickup at the Anaheim location. The day of my reservation, I received an email telling me to pick up the truck in a completely different city. I took a Lyft there by myself at night, only to find the truck located behind a liquor store in a dark, poorly lit area with no U-Haul staff present. The store clerk told me no one from U-Haul was available and that customers somehow receive an access code to retrieve the key themselves. I already had a confirmed 24-hour reservation, yet when I logged into the app, I was forced to repeat the entire rental process. The system then showed a maximum rental time of only 6 hours, despite my confirmed 24-hour reservation. The next morning at 7:00 AM, I began receiving phone calls asking when I would return the truck. I explained I had a 24-hour reservation and continued my move. Later that afternoon, I started receiving multiple calls from the liquor store while I was actively moving. When I tried calling back, it went to a MagicJack line that was unavailable. When I returned the truck around 9:00 PM, the area was again dark and empty. Orange cones blocked the original parking spot, so I parked nearby, completed the return process in the app, and placed the keys exactly where I found them (inside the back cargo area), since the app gave no instructions on where to leave them. While I was sitting alone in the dark waiting for my Lyft, the store called again. The man told me to move the truck next to another vehicle surrounded by cones. I explained it was already locked. He became upset and warned me that if something happened to the truck, it would be my responsibility. It was unsettling to feel like I was being watched in an unlit area behind a liquor store late at night. This entire experience was stressful, disorganized, and felt unsafe from start to finish. Moving is difficult enough without dealing with location changes, incorrect rental times, excessive phone calls, and poor communication. I would not recommend this location to anyone, especially for after-hours pickup.
