John Cthe worst experience i have had of all 2026, I was moving crossed country and rented a uhaul pickup 8 foot and a towing dolley to tow my car. Picking up the towing equipment was good until it was not. I told the guy I was moving to texas and he asked if the 1300 miles was correct and I said yes. I paid, and he helped me get on my way… WITHOUT telling me that the truck had to be dropped back off at the same location I picked it up from. Fast forward 22 hours of driving, i finally return the truck and dolley at a location. I asked the guy if this is the u-haul return, he said yes and asked if I was done, I said yes, he held his hand out for the key, I gave it to him and left. A day goes by and I find out that the truck and dolley was supposed to be returned back to michigan while I was in texas, which is impossible. I called 4 different u-haul people to try and figure out my situation, nobody could help me besides telling me i’m in the wrong and basically I will have to bite the bullet on the wrong dropoff fees. I get the receipt for the wrong drop off and it was $5000 extra dollars and now i’m screwed because I don’t have enough money to pay that since i’m only 21 moving accrosed country for a new life and a fresh start with a job. Now i’m in debt to U-haul and they put me on a payment plan. NEVER EVER USE U-HAUL IN YOUR LIFE. They are not there to help you when you need it. I feel scammed, stranded, and beyond upset.
