The agent at the location was very rude
monya fI got switched location thats was a decent amount of extra miles away (adding to cost), scatchy location (abandoned old flea market), no pick up instructions (had to call corporate to finally get in touch with location), very poor call connection and hard to understand any directions. Added extra time(almost an hour past expected pick up) extra drive time and miles in very congested busy area pushing past return time causing late fee.
Kevin WOnly thing I’m not happy about is being over charged. I was on a very tight budget and needed to stop to sleep and let my animals out of their crates but I needed up not having the money because I was over charged for insurance when I SPECIFICALLY clicked no thank you I do not want coverage. I was then charged 115$ for the truck and 70$ for the trailer. I ended up stranded because of the extra money you guys took from me. No cool.
Judith BThe location is unsafe. It is a large empty, what I thought was abandoned but apparently it's used for a flea market. It's a large area with a chain link fence around it with multiple padlocked gates. I was concerned that I had been scammed when I got there. Because I saw no business. I was able to get in contact with the man in charge of the Van, and he said that one of the gates should be unlocked. So he had me drive from gate to gate. I finally was able to find one gate that was unlocked and get to the Van. The Van was fine. I got the key, but by this time I was running late and actually was 25 minutes late to meet my movers at my place. Which was unacceptable. There are homeless people wandering about everywhere. I saw people pushing carts. I saw people that were obviously on drugs. There was trash everywhere. There were ripped up dirty mattresses with stains on them and trash up against two of the gates, I was extremely nervous about leaving my car in such a location and even just getting out of my car. I'm an age 50+ woman who was by myself. And frankly, I feared for my safety. When I got back I again contacted the man told me to drop the keys in the lock box. I actually had to sit in my car and wait until a group of homeless people, one of them who was vomiting, had left that gate area. This was the worst gate. There were mattresses up against it, trash and vomit. There was an article of clothing that looked like it had blood on it. This was terrifying and unacceptable on any level. Nobody should be going to this place, never mind a single woman. I was able to get the key in the lock box and get out of there. I trusted U-Haul. I expected to be going to a business with real people that I could deal with, not some empty abandoned padlocked area with homeless people wandering around. This whole experience was unacceptable. The Van itself was fine. I was able to do what I needed to do, although I was late showing up for my movers, and I had to pay for extra time, which isn't fair to me. Trust me, I will be reviewing both the business that I rented the Van from and U-Haul on multiple platforms. This was a horror show and has left me shaken.
