I was charged $79 rental fee instead of $19 on a van I rented. I told her I only needed it for 1 1/2 hours and only 30 miles but she said it automatically put a hold on my account until I return the van then they adjust the bill. She also said it had a full tank. When I drove off and got on the highway I noticed it was less than half a tank of gas. So when I got off the highway I stopped and took a Pic of the gas tank. I returned the truck 1 1/2 hour later. In the morning I was charged $79 for rental, plus mileage and filing up the tank. The $40-$45 rental became $111. Later in the day the gas was adjusted but the the $79 fee. Finally I got charged around $55, but I only owe about $40... I contacted the office twice and have not heard back. Now I have to visit the store for the 3rd time to try and resolve this! I don't have the time for this! But what other choice do I have? I was asked to sign a receipt for the rental truck at the drop off location. I was not given a copy of what I signed for which incorrectly states I was not involved in an accident in that vehicle. I did have a minor accident, not the rental truck was not damaged. Additionally, I was charged for something that wasn't discussed with me. I did buy "Safe Tow" for that vehicle. Brought the truck in at 5:30. Was told by staff member that we needed to fold each and everyone of the 24 blankets in the back of the truck or we would be charged a $25 folding fee. I worked real hard to get the truck back before this location closed and I'm glad I did. If I would've gotten charged $25 for not folding blankets I would've been very upset! I just wonder where it says this in the contract because I did not see this? Have not experienced any level of professionalism from any of the U-Haul locations at this point! Very poor customer service skills at both pick up location and drop off location! Maybe your U-Haul representatives need a lesson in proper customer service skills. Skills on how to treat somebody who is using your service! Your current representatives make you feel like they are doing you a favor.
