After being told I could pick this unit up by U-Haul through the mobile app once I arrived at the location, it wasn't. I was messing around with the app, then ultimately I had to contact customer service. The entire point was to be able to pick up the unit before 11 AM. Once I got to the location, I was not able to pick up the vehicle until 11. I drove the truck home, opened up the back, and it smelled terrible. I didn't feel comfortable putting my items in there for fear that the boxes would take on the smell of garbage. I should have opened up the back before taking the truck, which was my fault. It started hard. Ultimately, this was one of the worst trucks I had rented from U-Haul in a long time. It should be disclosed that the unit is being used to haul garbage. This truck needs to be retired or refurbished.

JEFFREY JI completed the mobile check in and went into the gas station where I was supposed to just pick up my key. The older gentleman there was very rude and abrupt and refused to acknowledge the mobile check in process already completed, and I had to stand there and give him alllllll my information again including my drivers license, debit, address, vehicle type and duration requested. It was like I walked in there without a reservation. Finally he handed me the keys to a different size truck than I reserved, and was really rude about changing it to the proper one. After all that I had to come back in because the mileage and gas levels were wrong. The vehicle was in ok shape, it was pretty dirty inside though. I came back in the return the key later and a different guy was really rude and dismissive. I was also charged twice on my debit card. Bottom line? If Uhaul is going to allow these people to contract for them, they need to be able to provide SOME sort of customer service, as well as offer the services that Uhaul advertises, such as mobile reservations and check-in etc.
Sarah BQuoted under $100 online, charged over $200, reserved a 20’ but it was sitting on a flat tire when I went to pick it up, all they had was a 15’, so we had to do extra trips which meant more miles to pay for, dirty cab, and the box area had bark all over. The guy that rang us out told me that they didn’t have a regular dolly, which I had on my reservation, so I had to take a utility dolly, there ended being a regular dolly in the truck so I used that one instead of the huge one I didn’t want in the first place, was still charged for both. Expensive and unpleasant experience!!
