How U-Haul Reviews WorkEverything was ready when I arrived. Turning in was an easy process. The staff was extremely nice.
Deborah CQUESTIONABLE REFUELING PRACTICES Digital fuel gauges. When I left it was slightly below 1/4 tank and displayed 68 miles to empty I returned the unit (closed during lunch) slightly below 1/4 tank displaying 64 miles to empty. When I received my bill it included a $30 fuel service fee and $7.88 for 2 gallons of gas. I drove back and asked to see the fuel gauge. The truck was parked out front with the ready to rent sunshade in the windshield. It was still slightly below 1/4 tank displaying 64 miles to empty. Zero fuel has been replenished. When I asked why I had been charged, they stated they charge by the gauge, not miles to empty. When I asked how they distinguish the difference, I was merely told they go by the gauge. I offered to take it next door and put 2 gallons of gas in the unit and was told they had already “closed it out” So basically they put the $37.88 in their pocket and mark it as having 1/8 tank to the next person that rents it.
