This was fine for an after hours drop off . I would like to mention the difficulty I had trying to speak to a real person to answer questions about changing the drop off location. We had an emergency and needed to catch a flight, but the wait time for the U-Haul phone call was 34 minutes!! I tried the app, the 800 number, and a local number. It was a most stressful situation. I doubt I will ever rent from U-Haul again.

Robert BNeeds maintenance. Can smell a gear oil kind of smell burning after drive from rear end. Front brakes are either no good or pad slapped and warped rotors. Definitely in need of maintenance
Nathan PNice and friendly staff. The process to pull in and drop the trailer was straightforward, and there was no time required to close out the rental agreement. However, I was a bit uncertain during the drop-off. The employee informed me that I did not need to check in at the office and could simply leave the trailer, which differs from what I’m accustomed to. Typically, equipment is inspected before I leave the property and a final invoice is provided. As guaranteed by employee, the invoice was sent to personal email, shortly after dropping off trailer.
John SI don’t typically have issues with a rental, however this vehicle was clearly not reviewed well before it was returned to service. The check engine light was on for the duration of my rental, resulting in poor fuel economy (avg 8mpg for in city driving). The windows were dirty, and I assumed it was on the outside but despite cleaning them at a gas station there was still a terrible haze that made driving in the sunlight difficult. At night time I realized the headlights were aligned poorly, and kept getting flashed by passing cars like I had my brights on. Annoying. The fuel economy gauge stayed at red the entire trip even on deceleration. The brakes were equally noisy, although I attest that to the vehicle sitting outside for any duration. There is clearly an exhaust leak at one of the manifolds near the engine. It’s noisy and fumes the cabin enough to give a headache. I don’t think I’m that particular of a renter, but man this one just didn’t meet my expectations at all.
