This has absolutely nothing to do with the location I picked up from, they were great, but rather uhaul in general. I made my reservation weeks ago and got a confirmation email that everything was set. Thankfully I called the location I had originally scheduled to pick up the truck from, because they didn't have my reservation. Apparently, they don't accept one-way rentals. That's fine, but it would have been nice for someone to have told me that. Had I just shown up assuming everything was good to go (as my confirmation letter stated), I would have been completely out of luck. It took me about an hour on the phone of being on hold, but thankfully the reservation people were helpful and able to get my reservation set up. Not nearly as convenient as it originally was given I don't live in Manhattan, but at least I was able to get a truck.

The guys working at the station were very nice. I was able to get my van earlier than I planned without any problem . They seem to care about you, you don’t get that very often

They charged me $4.50 for a gallon of gas when I already pumped to the correct amount. This seems like a scam and I'm never going back to these people again.

My first reservation was on 220 E 117st , They close at 5:00pm. Had to do the self-pickup and it didn’t work!! It told me that “We can’t rent you this truck at this time”! I had to walk to the other location. Service there was amazing and it was gas station !!! Thank o them , they save the day. So the pickup app doesn’t work and the hour should be open later for working people!!!

Initially scheduled to drop at 102 & Lexington Ave, but location was full, i.e., there was no place to park/return the 15-foot U-Haul. Staff was helpful, and advised I could drop at 117 & First Ave location. Parking at 117 & First was difficult, but the return was successful. I moved on the first weekend of June, and am not surprised there were many U-Haul vehicles being returned.

When sending someone 40 mins north of their requested pick up location and that customer has prepaid to ensure a quick collection it would be good it that collection didn't take another 40mins. Additionally, if the radio worked in the rental that would also have been nice.

DO NOT go to this location, under ANY circumstances. It was the worst service experience I have EVER had in my life. I called to report the unprofessional and reprehensible conduct of the representative. After making me wait 30 minutes before he figured out how to log in to the computer, he charged me for equipment he did not know he had. He then refused to give me a refund for it, and tried to send me to another location to get the equipment (the other location then said they would have to also charge me). He gave me a fake number to the location, told me he "didn't have time" for me, ignored me, and flat-out lied about the policies. He even got into an argument with the rep from the other location after they said they couldn't give me the equipment without charge. When I asked for a complete refund so I could get everything elsewhere, he said he had initially been willing, but because I was difficult he wouldn't help me anymore. I asked if he makes a practice of charging for equipment he doesn't have, and he responded that he "didn't care to check first" for me specifically, and that U-Haul regularly sends reservation confirmation/"equipment guaranteed" emails even though it isn't guaranteed. Overall, I waited over two hours, and had to figure out a solution on my own. He was aggressive, rude and the thought of his behavior appalls me to this day. It was my first experience with U-Haul and I'm afraid I won't be using it again and recommending against it if this man isn't reprimanded.

Pretty sure they charged me extra for gas despite a full tank.

They couldn't find my reservation. They had half as many blankets as was requested and did NOT update my contract to show that. They made me ask for help moving vehicles so I could get my truck. Poorly run. Poor service. Would not use.

Absolute disaster checking in and checking out. Nobody spoke English, had to wait endlessly for someone to help me and the gas station people seemed to care less about it. You should not have those people rep your brand if you want to have happy customers.

Battery died after one trip and when I called the location I rented from they yelled something and hung up on me 3 times.

The location was changed at the last minute and did not have supplies available and some of the items requested online were not in the truck. The staff was not very organized, but the pick up location itself was great for city dwellers.

Customer service at the 117th street and 1st Avenue location is horrible. The staff is rude and very unfriendly.

The people were fine. But any time someone came in for lotto or gas the guy would stop and tend to them making me wait. The location is difficult for big vehicles, once I was finally in the van I then had to wait for other cars that were parked in front of it to move. Same deal when dropping off. Next time I'll go to a formal Uhaul location.

The staff was nice but said they had no training at all in the new system. My reservation was delayed by almost an hour. Bad website.

Very stressful pickup location. Was yelled at and told to come back in the morning then was given keys to a truck without them checking the mileage and gas gauge which made me unsure of how much gas to return it with etc. In addition the reservation process was very unclear about the 'preferred' pickup location. If I had known they were going to switch my pickup from Chelsea to east Harlem I would have made other arrangements because picking up in east Harlem made the entire process so much more difficult and time consuming
