Malik PI rent from Uhaul fairly often and to keep your customers happy I would always Send them to the location on Poway Road and never to this one that I was directed to! It's so much more professional at every other location! Send a "secret shopper" and you'll likely cancel this franchise or whatever it is. The last time I went to this location and dealt with the owner, Sam, I vowed to never go back! He's arrogant, know it all, and often wrong. He shows no interest in respecting your time, argues about everything, and seems to be baiting me to an argument constantly. The last time it was inconvenient since I hadn't reserved in advance and I had to go to another location to escape his ridiculous behavior. When I found myself in the same situation WITH a reservation, I just exercised extreme patience. He didn't want my confirmation number, said I didn't have a reservation then said I did but it was for the next day. Ugh. All wrong! I had a print-out of my reservation, I was on time, no other customers were there, I saw the trailer I had reserved and parked in a convenient position to hook it up, and carefully chose every word I said. I am sure he had a very different experience than I had since as I was finally leaving with my trailer he said "thank you my friend". Woof. I was thinking, "I hope I never have to deal with you again!" I have lived nearby for decades and he used to be a very pleasant man that we enjoyed talking to him & his wife. They own the building and ran their liquor store, the Uhaul business, and the auto repair business is his tenant. Something happened and he is nothing like he used to be. What an absolute and complete jerk! I would drive to farther away locations to avoid him for any future rental business.
