When I arrive at 10:15 the store was closed and I had o wait 90 minutes to get my truck which caused me to be late for my moving schedule
WAYNE MWindshield was so dirty with bird droppings and rain-splotched dust (typical southern California issue) that it was difficult to see through when driving into morning sun. Doesn't a subsidiary local site have some responsibility to ensure windshields are kept free of weather/bird related debris? I 've rented from U-haul for 35 years and this is the first time I encountered suchva dirty windshield. Also, about 5 miles after truck was fully loaded, its transmission malfunctioned causing engine rpm's to race out of control at stoplight. Had to shift through all gears to get it to drop into Drive. After that it worked okay until it sat for a few hours as truck was unloaded. When restarted, transmission hesitated a significant amount of time before klunking into Drive. Dropped off truck after hours and reported it by phone to main U-Haul number and the storage company site. Hopefully it wasvremoved from service and local site cleans windshields of all other trucks they offer.
