Unrelated to location... I needed the equipment for <24 hours and was charged for 3 days without refund when returned. Based on ‘ Uhaul estimate of how long it would take me to go to the second location’. It’s not worth it to rent a $25 daily trailer and pay ins and rental for 3 days... next time I will box stuff in my personal open trailer.

Truck ready on schedule; clean and ready to go. Staff was friendly, professional and super efficient. Great, problem free experience. I give Tri City and Rhonda an A++.

Plenty of equipment available when I picked up my truck. Person handing Uhaul service was polite and friendly, other front counter staff were barely polite and not very welcoming.

I made a reservation on 8/14 for a 20' truck. They emailed me the location to pick it up at on 8/18. On the 18th, I arrived at that location and they did not have the truck available. I had to be sent to a different location where they only had a 20' "local" truck. I was charged $268 instead of the original $154 due to having to drive it back. I was not made aware of this charge and my bank account was overdrafted. I was very unsatisfied with this experience and will probably not use Uhaul in the future.

This location uses the uhaul trucks and trailers for firewood delivery. Their equipment is always full of wood scrapes and unannotated damage.

Terrible drop off experience until Susan in customer support and Carolyn at Tri City were able to help me. I was supposed to drop trailer off at Lake Lure Towing and Storage in Lake Lure, NC. When I arrived at 4:00 pm, no one was on site. They had trailers parked in a field with no access but to drive across the grass. A person at the office next to the UHaul office said to just drop the trailer in the field. I could not do that since I am an elderly single woman and could not lift the trailer off the hitch. So, I took it back home and called the UHaul office several times that evening and left messages, letting them know I needed assistance. They have yet to respond 24 hours later. I will do all in my power to let my neighbors know to never use this UHaul. After a phone call to your main office, Susan was able to direct me to Tri City, in another town, for drop off. Although it was inconvenient to drag the trailer another 20 miles, Carolyn at Tri City was very accommodating. I will still use UHaul in the future but will research a little better to avoid this aggravation.

We first contacted Ricky Smith and he set up my rental. He didn't have the truck we needed and he was very helpful to find us the right truck.

Dont say you can rent a truck on Sunday when your location closes at noon on Saturday for the weekend.

i had a reservation at another location where they never showed up so UHaul set up a larger truck at this location and they were great my “go to” place for the job I am performing now

$1.00 per mile is somewhat unreasonable.

When I reserved the U-Haul truck for this weekend, I was told by the personnel at Tri-City Tire in Rutherfordton that since it was a one-way rental, there was not a limit on miles. Although the final destination was Charleston, SC, I told the clerk that the truck would be traveling to North Myrtle Beach, SC, first to drop off items before continuing to Charleston. She said that was no problem, that miles did not matter. It was a 2-day rental and only had to be dropped off before the end of the 48-hour time limit - which it was - to avoid any further charges. I was billed for extra mileage and received notification via email Sunday. Can you tell me why I was told that mileage was not a factor and now I am being charged for extra miles? I sent an email to the contact link with this question as soon as I was billed, but I have not heard back from U-Haul. I would appreciate a response.

The only reason I can’t list it as an excellent is due to the address not being correct on my contract. We ended up having to google the address as our drop off was just after hours. Other than this, it was a great experience!

I am 62 yrs old and have pulled a lot of trailers, in my years. Was a Truck Driver for a while......but have never had a trailer so easy to pull, as the U haul 6x12. over 600 miles and it responded to the trucks every move so smoothly. I was amazed at the handling on this trailer in the horrible weather, flooded highways and streets. Backing was a breeze with what seemed to me as the perfect tongue length. Overly impressed with the equipment. And overwhelmed with the helpful, knowledgeable staff and operators at Tri City Tires......fantastic venture

The customer service experience was great. The lady which I spoke with was extremely friendly, helpful, and happy to help. I first was given a truck which was making a strange noise in the rear end, so I took it back and explained what I suspected was wrong. A gentleman who was working behind the counter immediately took the truck for a test drive. When he returned, he said something definitely was wrong with the truck. By the time he arrived, though. The rental lady had already done her part to swap out my truck for another one. They both apologized for the inconvenience and I was given a 2nd one. It was fine. The lady was very patient with me as we went over the truck, searching for unmarked damage and encouraged me to mark it even if I had a question about it being damaged. Soon I was one my way and ready for my move. I do appreciate the good people at True City Tire Service for the friendly service and professionalism.

The dealership takes a very hands off approach to helping the customer ensure that the trailer is hitched properly. This is evidently a U-Haul corperate position to reduce liability which I find disheartening. One would think if you are spending your money and choosing U-Haul that the renting agency would not be hamstrung by corperate BS in helping to ensure that the renter has the equipment properly connected for a safe experience. I do not blame the renting agency, I blame the suits at U-Haul for gladly taking my money but not allowing the renting agency to assist in making sure the trailer is safely connected. Their comment to me was that corperate does not allow us to assist you in hitching or ensuring proper connections. Which of course leaves a less experienced renter to the whim of good luck. Not the best policy in my opinion.

We rented the 10 ft truck as we only had a small storage shed to move to a new home. Without a ramp loading our lawn mower was tough for too seniors. We used planks but ran into some issues. Other than not having a ramp, the truck was fine and the right size for us.

Nice people but their office setup is somewhat weak. I would use them again.
