Everything was good except when I booked online, it showed $150 including the miles I added. Then when I went to pick up the truck, they said I got to pay $177. I don't understand why there was a difference.

Alison MI couldn’t get the app to work, so I had to call the customer service number. The woman who helped me navigate was so helpful.
Joe MWILL NOT USE U-HAUL AGAIN!!! My frustration is not with the local U-Haul location. The employees there were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout the rental process. They did everything they could, and I appreciate their customer service. My issue is entirely with U-Haul Corporate and its unfair customer policy. After an exhausting and stressful move, I stopped to top off the fuel before returning the truck. It only needed about two gallons, but with everything else on my mind, I accidentally overfilled the tank and ended up putting in $51 worth of gas. Here’s what I find unacceptable: if I had returned the truck just a few gallons short, U-Haul would have had no problem charging me approximately $5 per gallon for the shortage. Yet when I accidentally left the truck with significantly more fuel than required, U-Haul refused to reimburse me for the extra gas that I paid for. That isn’t customer service—it’s a one-sided policy that benefits the company regardless of the situation. If customers are expected to pay for fuel shortages, the company should also be willing to compensate customers when they leave behind fuel that benefits the next renter. Fairness should work both ways. It’s disappointing that a corporate policy like this undermines the excellent service provided by the local staff. Because of U-Haul Corporate’s unwillingness to do the right thing, I will not rent from U-Haul again, and I cannot recommend the company to my real estate clients or anyone else looking for a truck rental. Good customer service isn’t just about enforcing policies when they favor the company—it’s about treating customers fairly, even when the situation doesn’t.
