When I picked up the vehicle on Saturday I was told the truck had been checked out and cleaned. When I inspected the truck I found it to be extremely dirty in the cab and van box. There was excessive amounts of dog hair in the cab and the dog smell was enough to make you sick. There was also excessive amounts of dog hair and trash in the van box. My wife is very allergic to pet odors and we spent over an hour cleaning the whole truck when we got home. We tried cleaning solution and air freshener in the cab and still couldn't get the dog odor out. we were not able to trade the vehicle out since the rental facility closed at 1:00pm on Saturday and was closed on Sunday. Due to the excessive odors we had to stop every couple hours to get fresh air. Also the fuel mileage was terrible. You state in your brochures that this truck should get 10mph. I have rented this size before and always averaged 10-10 1/2 mpg. I averaged 7-7.5mpg the whole trip. Also this was one of the roughest riding 26' Uhaul vans I have ever rented. Due to the rough ride I incurred damage to the frame components on my treadmill which I have already filed a claim with Repwest. When I called Uhaul for the drop-off location they referred me to Raider Marine Service, 43727 US Hwy 19N, Tarpon Springs, FL. They service boats and do not have adequate space for 26' trucks. They have a single grass driveway with drop-off's on both sides making it difficult to pull off the very busy Hwy 19 interstate. They had one employee working inside of a boat who didn't have time to check me in or give me a receipt for the return. The Clearwater office referred me to Steven, the traffic control manager for my North Carolina pick-up location. I left a message for him yesterday to discuss the displeasure of my rental experience. It has now been 27 hours since I left the message and have not heard back from him. I am very disappointed with the overall customer service I have experienced. All in All this has been my worst experience ever when renting a Uhaul truck. .
