I was charged for a dolly that I wasn't given. It's fraud. If not resolved I will file a fraud charge with my bank

John PI called to set up pick ip at 730 am. It was confirmed multiple times. The manager I spoke to said it would be no problem. However when I got there at 730 no one was there and they opened at 9. I called customer service and they said it was not set up for after hour pick up. I had to wait an hour and a half while people were at my house to help me move. This caused trouble. When he did arrive he was rude. He said he did set it up that way. Although he clearly has not. He offered no assistance for the trouble I went through. And the clear mistake on his part that cause me time and effort. He said he couldn’t and wouldn’t. I got the truck. I turned the truck in by 130 when I didn’t need to until 4. I had only used 29 miles when I set up for 35. I was still distraught and dropped the keys and left. When I got the final receipt he charges me for 65 miles. Over double what I actually used. I called and he would not answer from my phone. I assume he knew it was me and why I was calling. I called from my mom’s phone. He answered. I said the miles were not correct. He said I’ll check and hung up on me. No return call. No email showing it has been fixed. It was clear he was messing with me. I had to drive all the way across town to try and prove the miles. When I got there he said it was fixed. I said I didn’t receive a email. He said check again. I had been checking and refreshing as it would of saved me a trip. Nothing. I asked for a copy of the receipt. He said he can’t give me one. Said I drove there for nothing. I asked to take a pic of the odometer. Then I left. Spoke with a manager from customer service. Who said they filed a claim and I had to wait till Monday before anyone could fix the problem. In the mean time I was being incorrectly charged. This is the worst customer service I have ever had in all my life. I can’t believe this treatment was coming from a manger. And from a big company such as U-Haul. I will never use this company again.
Summer PI reserved a rental trailer online. Shortly before my pickup date I received a call stating they didn’t have the trailer I reserved online at the location the site stated was available, which is not a big deal, but there’s more. When I showed up for pickup the office was empty. I waited 20 min before the employee showed up in the office. I understand if there’s only 1 person on shift they can’t do everything at once, but I did wait 20 minutes. Then I was told the computer system was down and it was impossible for me to get my rental. No paper form or alternative was offered, it was simply, “no you can’t”. I was told it “might work in an hour” and he said he would call me in an hour. There was nothing I could do so I left. I waited 2 hours - no call. I called their office, multiple times - no answer. I called customer service and explained this issue was going to ruin plans for our entire weekend. I was told again the system was still down but she would try to dispatch the rental on her end. It worked, but the system would not allow us to obtain insurance coverage for the rental. I drove back to the pickup location, the office was empty and locked this time, no one to be found, again. I waited another 20 minutes, again. The guy finally showed up and eventually hooked up the trailer for me (because he had to, otherwise I would’ve done it myself). We were now close to 4 hours behind schedule. I asked the guy if I could returned a day early if we didn’t need the last day. He said sure and we wouldn’t be charged. I clarified because that would be Easter Sunday. He said someone would be there until 2pm. I did end up returning a day early, before 2pm - pictures to prove it. No one was there. There was a sign on the door stating they were closed the whole day. I was charged for the extra day that I did not even have the rental. The whole thing from start to finish was pretty much a hot mess. I wasn’t going to make a stink about it, then I received an email from U-Haul asking for a review of the experience - so here it is. At least the equipment was good and worked well for us.
David BGet better road side assistance. We were delayed a day because of it taking so long and due to a management decision assistance team sent a recovery truck instead of a repair truck. The trailer was unhitched, loaded on a flat bed truck, and taken to the U-haul Center in Pasco WA. After a two tire change, and sorting out the contract error we departed. Pasco Center was excellent. Cannot say the same about whomever made the decision to recover the trailer instead of changing out the two tires. I will be calling management to voice my disappointment. I will be seeking compensation for our delay of a day/night. Extra lodging and food. I would appreciate a call from management. Barry Byrne 360-310-8217
