The pickup up the truck was fairly easy .. cell coverage was poor, which made using the U-Haul application difficult, returning the truck was more difficult because mileage recorded was incorrect. But in the future I really look forward to using the application. Thank you.

My problem wasn't the location per se. Your software is broken. One of the many problems is that you require customers to be in the location in order to do the paperwork on the app. The problem is some places don't have great internet. We tried several times and our connection wasn't good enough to complete the self dispatch. Then the woman from customer service blamed me for the problem! I would use ANY other rental truck company over U-Haul right now.

You all sucked. Renting a truck and returning it shouldn't have to be so hard. After you changed my rental location, after you changed my drop off location. I've never had such a terrible experience with U Haul before this one. I'll be seriously rethinking my next move. From zero to now you have failed.

I found the after hours check in process very cumbersome. The taking of the pictures was a lot more involved than my previous experiences when all I had to do was write down the odometer reading, and indicate the fuel amount. Also, when I got to the payment screen, I could not get the software to let me make any selection as to how I wanted to pay. I finally just closed it out and then called to next morning to make sure that payment was made appropriately.

There was confusion on my order and a change in pickup location, so it was not a great experience with Uhaul, I requested a pickup 15 miles closer to my home and had to make the round trip pickup and drop off with both my vehicle and the rental. I also rented the Van for a round-trip 3 day rental because it was less than half the price of a one-way rental. However, when I returned the Vehicle I was told It was listed as one-way and only 335 miles alowed. The associate was very helpful and understanding and honored my original agreement, but it was frustrating to know i could have saved myself an entire day of driving, the specifics of the rental should have been more clear on both ends. The associate i spoke with was very helpful and I appreciate her great customer service.

On the morning of the rental i was using the app in order to complete the pre rental process. After entering all the areas that had damage on the truck and submitting a picture of my drivers license front and back as well as a head shot i was required to enter in an additional contact name and phone number. After entering in the information a chat window was opened with a uhaul representative. She indicated that she would be verifiying my information and calling my additional contact. After waiting a couple of minutes with no response from her I asked if I was done. She indicated that she was unable to contact my additional contact. It was my wife and apparently she was in the shower. After several more minutes of waiting I asked her why that was a requirement and really necessary. In addition I asked her to send me an email detailing the requirement. Her response was that an email had been sent and then she closed the chat window. The I received a message that I was unable to rent the truck. Luckily the representative for the local agency came in and helped me out an hour later. Why do you require an additional contact? You have a copy of my drivers license front and back, a head shot and my credit card number. The local rep explained that its because sometimes trucks go missing etc. If i provide you with the number of my accomplice who is going to steal the truck with me then what good does it do to call them? You almost screwed up my whole day and lost a customer because of a meaningless policy that has no grounding. The app is a great idea to be able to check in or out unaided but to under mind it with something so silly is pointless. You should change this policy.

It took a while to check it out due to my timing, they were very accommodating. The return was a little frustrating as I had just moved for 12 hours and it was raining and the site on my phone wanted me to create an account, which did not work well and kept bumping me to start over. I was exhausted and wanted to be done, someone actually had to drive over and then it was done over the phone. I don't think you should be required to create an account unless you really want to. Check out should be simpler. Thank you though for all the help.
