The truck I rented had some damage on the drivers side door, the gentleman that came out to look at the truck when I returned it tryed to accused my husband of doing the damage, he tryed saying we hit something and damaged the door, my husband was upset and said after the 5th time the gentleman accused him of doing the damage I didn't do anything to this truck and we will not let you keep accusing us for doing this, the woman that rented us the truck should have came out and look at this truck before we took it off the lot that damage was already there fin ally the woman said that she did not inspect the truck it was a truck that was dropped off and just prepaid before us so whoever dropped the truck of must of damaged the truck and he was trying to blame us. This was a lesson learned If Ever I rent a U-Haul again I will be sure they go out and inspect it before I drive off the lot!!!

The representative was upset because of an issue with the customer before me> I said hello to him and he did not respond. I told him that i did not need insurance on my truck and he put it on anyway. When I asked why the price was $60 more than what i reserved it for, he said that rates go up. I had to calculate the payment myself to determin why it was os much more. He became vefryu negative after this so much so that he did not want to even share his pen with me so that i could sign the contract. As well he did not provide me with the equipment that i rented. I was not able to complete my transaction becasue of this . When I contacted the supervisor at this location he assure me that he advised uhaul that i did not recieve the equipment and contacted the pother location. Today I checked my email and they still charged me for "missing equipment". I filed a formal complaint against this location, and I still have not heard back. Officially Uhaul has stolen over $100 of my money

Very easy to schedule, and was ready to go with no delays.



We drove the vehicle to my home, 1 1/2 miles away and realized the service engine light was on. Since we were about to drive 200 miles one way, we called the site where we had just left. I asked that we be brought a different vehicle. An agent arrived about 20 Minutes later and we exchanged vehicles. That particular vehicle had no lock on the back but we agreed to take it anyway. We had driven less than a mile when we realized that this replacement vehicle had less than 1/2 a tank of gas. I took a picture of the mileage and gas level and we drove on. We were now 1 hr behind schedule but understood that things happen. After returning home and unloading, we returned the vehicle, 18.5 hrs earlier than predicted. Overall, we were satisfied until we dealt with the agent on duty when returning the vehicle. The agent was very unpleasant, bordering on rude, and answered my questions like he was a robot, with no hint of compassion or kindness. 1. I am a 72 year old female (not a good excuse, I know) and he promptly told me that I had to move the vehicle from about 20 ft away to the appropriate "return equipment" lane. 2. It was cold and I was tired, so I thought I could let the agent assess the condition of the returned vehicle, and I could wait inside for his return to give me my receipt, etc. But no, he told me that "everything had to be done OUTSIDE! ". So I complied. Not sure if this is a UHaul policy but I thought this was not very accommodating. I must note that he seemed to be the only one on duty. 3. I asked if there was a discount for returning the vehicle 18.5 hours early and the answer was only an unpleasant "no". 4. I asked why the Friday rate was not 79 cents per mile rather than the .99 cents. He curtly said, "Friday is the weekend". 5. I realized that I was charged the 3 mile round trip for the first vehicle. And the 3 miles for the replacement vehicle. That is only a $3 amount----not a huge issue, but I think that it is poor customer service to charge for the first vehicle and the replacement vehicle mileage when the mileage was incurred through no fault of our own. What if we had been stranded 100 miles away? Would we have had to pay for the mileage on both vehicles? My overall feeling when I left UHaul was that this agent was a total jerk. I have to say that the agent Heidi, with whom I dealt when I picked up the vehicle was totally polite and considerate. The other two agents present that day were equally congenial and welcoming. Unfortunately, I was so taken aback by my interaction with yesterday's agent that I don't remember his name, however he is likely not the best representative for your company. Hoping that is not the usual way the Summer St location does business. I hope this narrative helps you figure out how your customer service can be improved. Thank you very much for asking about my experience.

It was necessary to drop off the car transporter after hours. I left messages with the call center on Sunday during open hours asking for a return confirmation that hauler was located in lot . I got a local on site employee on Monday morning who said she would do a lot check and get back to by email or phone to confirm everything was ok. I haven't received any response so I assume everything is fine.

Customer service was very good. It did take longer than expected, but the mechanic explained the difficulty working on Buicks. Unfortunately the rubber seals on the trailer were missing on the bottom of the door and 4 very expensive Teak speakers were ruined because of rain damage. Rain damage is not covered under the insurance we purchased which was disheartening. The speakers have been in my family for over 40 years.

The amount of time people have to wait to rent equipment is long, but to return equipment is beyond ridiculous. There isn’t enough staff, and people are kept waiting in an empty store. The employee Dylan was just blatantly rude when I picked up my rental. He has zero customer service skills seemed annoyed to have to be helping us at all. He was very condescending. Dylan, you should be working in the garage installing hitches like the troglodyte you are. It doesn’t take effort to be a decent human, Dylan definitely earned his prick pay on Saturday.

I reserved a 15' truck for Sunday, October 16, 2018 at 7:00. Imagine my dismay when I got to store on Summer Street in Bangor, ME and discovered the store did not open until 9:00 AM. I attempted to log in to my account but soon discovered that was a near impossible feat to accomplish and pointless to boot as all keys are locked in a building. When I went back to the store at 9:00, the young man who attempted to wait on me could not answer a single question for me as to why I was told I could pick up the truck at 7:00 AM when the store did not open until 9:00. I asked to speak to a manager. There was none on the premises. The gentleman did call one and was told I could have a break on the mileage. The truck ran great but was dirty on the outside. The windshield was covered in bug guts and bird excrement. This was my second, and final, negative experience with this store. My attempted to rent a van there on August 24, 2018. The staff seemed perplexed as to how process the paperwork so we could move her into her first apartment. When we returned the van, they were clueless as to process her payment. We will not use this store again and will consider other equipment and storage rental options, other than U-Haul, in the future.

Add more desk staff. There is a sign outside that says "wait with vehicle for check in." I was the only one waiting, for about 5 minutes, before I went in to check in my vehicle. The 2 people at the desk appeared to not be aware that someone was outside waiting for them, and 2) didn't seem to be aware of what the sign said.

Estimate was $40 dollars higher on a 3 day rental. The van smelled like it had been smoked in heavily and the staff was firm and not amenable to reducing the rate to the estimate. Not happy. The work was performed with the van well.

Everyone there was awesome! We broke down 2 hours from home on our way back from vacation and the tow bill would have been over 400 dollars! We rented a car trailer from them, last minute, and they were awesome about it! We even were able to drop the trailer off at our local uhaul in Jay, Me! Uhaul saved us a bunch of headaches and money! Definitely recommend Uhaul to anyone, especially the Bangor and Jay stores!

Equipment needs to be inspected before it is rented out to a customer, and technician needs to properly repair equipment before rented out. I wasted 3 hours there between waiting for the trailer light to be fixed and going back for a new trailer because it was improperly fixed
