I was double charged for a rental due to an issue that was not my fault. I picked up the truck around 4 PM, planning to begin loading at 6 PM. However, when I went to access the truck, there was a lock on the door and I did not have a key, so I was unable to use it at all. We called multiple times for assistance but could not reach anyone for about 30 minutes. When we finally got through, we were told we had to return the truck so they could cut the lock off and issue us a different one. This meant driving back to the location and waiting until around 8 PM for someone to arrive and switch out the vehicle. I was told I would not be charged for that day since the entire day was lost due to their mistake. I returned the replacement truck the following day around 6 PM. Even though it was after hours and I was told that was okay, I was still charged for two full days, despite using the truck for less than 24 hours. This was my first experience with U-Haul, and it was very disappointing. I will not use this location again or recommend it to others. They did not stand by what they told me, and I ended up paying for an issue that could have been prevented if the truck had been properly checked before pickup.
