Too crowded with vehicles in a small area,

Horrible the place was closed and I had to park up front where another U-Haul was the drop box was nowhere to be found and the terrible app loaded away just as I was clicking for the drop box. I used the horrible chat cuz the phone was making me wait 20 minutes turns out it was on the inside of the fence I had to awkwardly reach and straddle the fence to drop off.

I didn't have any problems with any of the location. My issue was with uhal(they change my pick up locations twice out of thin air.. I assume is because they have Régular clients that are their priority and gave them the truck I had already reserved at the Hollywood location.

Take close up pictures so that the customer can actually see the entire car. Don't put pictures that customers cannot click or zoom in, otherwise they will miss any minor damages that are already on the car prior to pickup. Or have the customer take pictures themselves. Pre-loaded pictures are wrong especially taken by your company or staff. Customer should take pictures of the cars current condition at the time of pickup so that they can verify that accuracy of the damages. Instead of verifying the damages with pre loaded photos from your website.

The parking lot and other businesses were crowded. There was no available parking on the street. We had to park in a NO PARKING area. Otherwise the rental process went along smoothly.

I had trouble confirming the reservation online initially. I made a reservation online and chose the phone check-out (vs checking out at the counter). When I received the confirmation it was to a different pick-up location. When I called, the first u-haul rep told me that happens all the time when you use online reservations. He told me not to do the online reservations and I should always call instead. He then transferred to me to someone who was supposed to help me, but instead I got disconnected. The 2nd time (I called back), the rep informed me that the online reservation isn't accurate and that it's only giving the user a chance to pick a “preferred” pick-up location, but the system would redirect to another location that actually has the type of vehichle requested? What?! That's like making a reservation at a specific hotel location (when it shows avails), but then the system redirects the user to another hotel for the final confirmation! I cancelled the whole reservation b/c the rep told me there were no trucks available in my city of choice (even though there were several locations showing availability online). I went back online and the same location I chose initially was still showing it had the type of vehicle I wanted; and it was available when I needed it. This time, I chose the “check-out at the counter” option. The reservation was confirmed. I was leery. However, when I showed up to the location, not only did they have a truck ready for me, it also was practically new (only about 3k miles on the truck) and with pads inside that they allowed me to use (keep in the truck). The location was great! They had my reservation and welcomed me by name when I said I had reserved a truck. I was in and out quickly. I would highly recommend this location, but I can't say I would recommend the u-Haul online reservation system or support reps. They both said the online reservations system isnt accurate. In my case today it was the service reps who need improvement.


They gave us a U-Haul truck with faulty brakes and the headlights weren't working correctly. I will never use U-Haul again

Truck had it's cabin insanely dirty. Cigarette butts in the ashtray, dust all over it, spilled coffee on the dashboard. Windshield whippers didn't work and had no cleaning fluid in it. Horn didn't work, and I've only noticed when I needed to use it to avoid an accident. You've put my life and others in jeopardy.

Customers should be warned about the street parking enforcement for overnight parking. I was in the rush and didn't read the rules to double check as I was told that it's ok to park on the street. I remembered just in time that there was some restrictions and went and got my car before I was ticketed. But if I relied on the advise of your staff it could've been costly!

These little mom and pop shops should not be allowed to carry U-Haul trucks. So unorganized and since U-Haul rental isn't the primary business your needs are second nature.
