How U-Haul Reviews WorkI chose this location since it is close to my home and had higher reviews. I probably would have put in at least four stars myself right up until the last few minutes that I was there checking the vehicle back in. If you are an older person like myself and were used to someone walking out with you and going over the vehicle, you now have to do this yourself on your phone, taking pictures of each side of the vehicle and a few other things. At one point, one of those "few other things" showed fuel amount on the screen. The link said it was a smidge above 3/4 and when I looked at it, it seemed close enough for me at exactly 3/4. Apparently, that was the wrong thing to do. I should have called attention to the discrepancy in-person or (didn't realize at the time) through the app/link. The truck itself was ok, very basic and older. When I returned it, everything was fine except they wanted to charge me $11.50 for 1/16th of fuel. I ended up taking the keys back, driving to a gas station, and putting a gallon of gas in the tank before handing it back to them. I suppose this is a U-Haul policy. There were plenty of good things about the visit including the ease of reserving the vehicle, but when your policy haggles over a single gallon of fuel it doesn't make me want to come back. Even something like a $4-5 surcharge in the final bill would have been reasonable. So, would I recommend? Probably not. At least if you do use them, know that they are deadly serious about that 1/16th and who knows what else. I would certainly council a prospective customer to never just blindly drop off the vehicle thinking that it was fine unless you have money to burn.
