The business location is dirty and seems to double as someone's living room. The place smells of cigarette smoke and weird people are loitering and hanging out on couches that are in front of the register. There is also visible dirt on the ground. When I arrived to pick up my truck I asked if the two dollies I rented were loaded. I received a confident "yes" response from whomever the raggedy looking guy behind the counter was. I left with the truck to get home and ready to move to discover that there were NO dollies in the truck. I called and was told that they didn't have any after all. So I was lied to when i asked if they were loaded. I went to pick up something that the owner referred to as a furniture dolly but was NOT such a thing and certainly not the furnitue dolly that Uhaul advertises. In fact looked like a D student's shop project. It was as worthless as the person who rented it to me. Our movers failed to put the dolly back in the truck (admittedly my error in failing to double check it was loaded) and I received a call from Namaste the next day after the move informing me it needed to be returned. Fine and no problem since no one would want the piece of garbage anyway. The following day (two days after the move) I called Namaste to verify and the same raggedy person advised that it was $89 unless I returned it. In fact, Namaste had already charged me for it depsite it being worth maybe $10 since it was NOT AN ACTUAL UHAUL DOLLY. I told him how irritated I was with the entire situation and that I was going to call the corporate office. He started to mutter something in a raised voice so I hung up. While I was on hold with the Uhaul customer service line, the guy called me 5 times in succession like he was some sort of crazy ex-boyfriend. The customer service line was equally as terrible and it's staggering these people are paid to resolve customer issues. There is a marked lack of training in customer recovery standards and every single person I spoke with was rude, sighed a lot, and basically gave me a runaround until I had to get mad and ask to speak to someone in charge. I informed the agent I was afraid to return to the location as I found it unsafe and the guy too unpredictable for me to return to the location and not fear for my safety. I was told by several representatives that a district manager was going to call me and he did not. Two hours later I told Uhaul I was going to put the dolly outside of business's building and NOT interact with the raggedy guy anymore. I dropped it off and called the customer service line back to advice they tell the owner the dolly was outside. This took an entire morning. 3 hours from the time I made the first call to the time I dropped off the dolly. The moral of the story is, use Penske or Budget, or find some magic reindeer or anything you can to avoid using Uhaul. Dropping the truck off after hours was very difficult in the alley. I had to park on the street, but that doesn't make me not want to use them. The customer service was wonderful.

Staff were very friendly. However, the truck itself had several issues... 1) There was a hole in the corner of the roof of storage chamber. 2) Paint had been spilled over portions of the floor by a previous user 3) The padlock on the back of the truck did not match the key given to me. Sadly I did not discover any of these issues until I was already at the my first destination given there was no walk-around inspection of the vehicle prior to leaving.

I was extremely disappointed by my uhaul experience. First of all, the location was extremely difficult to find, and it was after 10 minutes of searching that I discovered the tiny “uhaul” sign. I was told that I would be able to pick up my truck that I reserved using the app. When I arrived onsite and went to pick it up, the app stated that it wasn’t available, and I had to wait around for a person to fix this. Then when I finally got my truck the app prompted me to take a picture of the odometer. The app had a glitch and would not let me take a picture. Later, upon returning the vehicle to uhaul I found no adequate parking. The location only owned 4 spots that were all clearly too small to be parking a truck. Lastly, the app prompted me to again take a picture of the odometer and again I was unable to. Overall I found that uhaul added to the stress of moving day rather than assisting.

There was almost no room for parking there! Other drivers didn't leave space for me to drop off the truck. I (and two others) had to park in the parking adjacent to haul parking. It took me almost half hour to navigate through. Will never use this location again.

I had to pay an extra $45 due to the Ravenswood office failing to record the correct odometer number and making the records show that I somehow drove 120 miles on a one way trip from kenilworth to Schaumburg (22 miles). When I confronted the worker at the drop off and he said “there is nothing I can do”. Also they had none of the equipment that I requested for at pick up.

I AM SO ANGRY BECAUSE YOU CHANGED MY PICK UP LOCATION WITHOUT TELLING ME. While the Ravenswood location was fine, IT WAS NOT THE LOCATION I BOOKED MY RESERVATION WITH. (YES I AM YELLING) I will tell everyone I know how upset and unprofessional your company is. I will avoid using UHAUL ever again. A simple email to let me know that my van was NOT AT THE LOCATION I BOOKED would have been nice. Come on, this is 2018. Let me me know when you change the pick up location. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

This was a horrible experience. Review my chat with your customer service department on the day I rented this truck. I was not provided a dolly or furniture pads, for which I reserved and have been charge for. I tried unsuccessfully to get the furniture pads and dolly, however "Namaste" Shipping was unreachable. As a result I now have a rip in a $750 leather chair. Please refund the charges.

The person in charge at Ravenswood was incredibly helpful! We had been told by Lathrop Ave dealer that we were to go to Another drop off point which turned out to be 30-40 minutes away!! Ridiculous!! The manager at Ravenswood kindly took our truck after two of us simultaneously spent 30” on 2 different phones on call waiting, trying to get help (& a closer location) from UHaul. We never did get to talk to a real person...?? I’m probably not hiring UHaul again. The dealers were both great—especially Ravenswood—but it’s ridiculous for us not to know our drop-off destination until we pick up the truck—& then it’s impossible to get a real person to help!

The equipment we requested was unavailable. The employee was friendly but the location was very poorly maintained and dirty. And we went to return the vehicle and hour before it closed and no one was there to open the door or answer any questions
